While a basic principle of Love To Move is repetition, we occasionally freshen things up and create new challenge in order to remain person centred and participant aware. Repetition is reassuring, safe and stimulates neurone firing, so keeping movements similar while introducing updated music brings subtle change. Our group is currently enjoying some ‘new’ 70/80’s top tunes!

Did you know? Love To Move is unique. Designed by the British Gymnastic Foundation, it is an evidence based (Age UK 2016), gymnastic and cognitive enhancement movement programme. Adapted from successful state funded programs in Japan and South Korea and scientifically structured to improve the physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing of older adults and those living with dementia or Parkinson’s.

Love to Move is much more than a seated exercise programme. It combines evidence based movement, music and cognitive stimulation to help older people improve mobility, confidence, social connection and well being. Participants, relatives and carers continue to tell us about the positive difference it makes.
