'You only live once' is a phrase used so often when doing something that you know has potential to harm you. Whether that's skydiving or having a glass of wine, the same theory is applied to them both. 🤔

But here's the thing, when it comes to food or drink, it may not be the reason you die BUT it may be the reason you spend a lot of time on medication, at the hospital or struggling with pain or inflammation. 😞

So next time you use that phrase to justify eating or drinking something that you know may harm you, remember that your choices can determine, not necessarily how long you live, but the quality of life you enjoy whilst living it. 🙏

MUM GUILT STOPS SO MANY WOMEN FROM LOOKING AFTER THEMSELVES

I speak to so many mums who feel guilty for:
-resting
-taking time for themselves
-spending money on support
-setting boundaries
-prioritising their own wellbeing

Somewhere along the way, many women were taught that being a “good mum” means constantly sacrificing yourself but you cannot pour from an empty cup.

When you are constantly overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted and running on stress, it affects:
-your mood
-your confidence
-your health
-your habits
-your relationship with food
-your energy

Looking after yourself is NOT selfish, it’s necessary and sometimes healing starts with giving yourself permission to matter again because your wellbeing matters too 💛

Changing your habits isn’t about trying harder - if it was, you’d have done it by now.

It’s about understanding what’s underneath the habit because most habits, especially the ones you struggle with, aren’t random.

They’re serving a purpose - emotional eating gives comfort, scrolling gives escape, avoidance gives temporary relief.

So when you try to “just stop” your brain resists because it’s losing something it believes you need.

That’s why real change comes from going deeper, understanding the trigger, shifting the response and supporting your nervous system.

This is where things like breathwork, journaling, EFT, and energy work become powerful because you’re not just forcing change you’re creating it in a way that actually feels safe and sustainable - and when it feels safe it sticks.

Majorca you were a blast, so hot and sunny ☀️😎

Fun splashing by the pool, taking boat trips and horse riding in the mountains, late nights and slow mornings oh and I did manage a few gym workouts too 😍

Don't be fooled by social media though we had some tough times, kids argued, tempers flared, kids didn't always agree with our plans, kids didn't always want to eat what we wanted (that's where the buffet came in handy!), we had one day where our little man wasn't feeling so great and yes we still did some washing! 🤷‍♀️

It was a lovely break and the weather makes things a whole lot easier, the hotel was lovely and we got to try the few Spanish words I had learnt from a year of Duo Lingo!(I think it will take me years before I am fluent!) 🙈🤷‍♀️

Back to rainy Wales and a wet school run this morning, what a come down! 😂😭

They watch you eat, they see how you dress, they watch your behaviour, they see how you treat yourself, often becoming a mini you in the process. 🧑‍🧒

Next time you are standing in front of the mirror wishing you were thinner, next time you talk about how much you hate your bum/tummy/legs etc remember who may be listening. Next time you choose not to eat all day then binge on chocolate, the next time you choose to scroll on your phone instead of going to the gym - stop and ask, what example am I setting for them? 🛑

It's important to be the example, they do as you do NOT as you say. It's one of the biggest reasons why I decided to make changes to my lifestyle - my eating habits and at times my lifestyle just weren't promoting the healthy habits I wanted to promote to my children. 🎉

You don’t need more information, you already know what to do.

-Drink more water.
-Move your body.
-Eat better.
-Get more sleep.

So why isn’t it happening?

Because knowledge isn’t the problem, the problem is the gap between knowing and doing.

That’s where coaching comes in.

It’s not about telling you what to do, it’s about helping you understand why you’re not doing it.

The self-sabotage, the limiting beliefs, the patterns you keep repeating without even realising.

It’s about having someone in your corner who sees what you can’t see, guides you through it, and holds you accountable in a supportive way because doing it alone is where most people stay stuck.

And as a busy mum, it’s so easy to put yourself last, push things aside, and say “I’ll deal with it later" but later turns into months or even years.

You deserve to feel clear, confident, and back in control of your life.

There’s a reason you keep “starting again on Monday" and it’s not because you lack discipline.

It’s because you’ve been taught to approach food from a place of restriction, guilt, and all-or-nothing thinking.

You’re either “being good” or you’ve “fallen off track”

So what happens?
You restrict - you crave - you give in - you feel frustrated - you start again - and the cycle continues.

But what if the problem isn’t you, it’s the approach?

Healthy eating isn’t about cutting everything out or relying on willpower, it’s about understanding your habits, your triggers, and your patterns around food.
