Two days. Another Outdoor First Aid renewal completed.
Every few years I spend the weekend to refresh and reassess my first aid skills - not because I expect things to go wrong, but because when you work with people outdoors and through movement, being prepared matters.
From wellbeing walks and trail adventures to fitness sessions and retreats, I’m often supporting people in environments where help isn’t immediately around the corner.
This training goes far beyond emergency first aid. It covers everything from fractures, head injuries and medical emergencies to environmental conditions, casualty assessment and decision-making under pressure.
What I value most is that it builds confidence as much as competence.
Not panic. Not guesswork.
Calm, practical action when someone needs support.
Thankfully, serious incidents are rare - and I hope they stay that way - but my clients deserve to know that their safety is something I take seriously behind the scenes, not just when it’s convenient.
The certificate lasts three years.
The responsibility lasts every single session. ❤️
