“Falling Into a State of Disrepair” – But Not on Our Watch

The South Wales Argus once described the former Church House Inn, known as the Six Bells on Stow Hill as:

"Falling into a state of disrepair, with broken windows and a leaking roof after lying empty for a number of years."

This building meant so much to so many—and yet it was crumbling, forgotten, nearly lost to time. But we couldn’t let that happen.

We’re not just renovating a building—we’re restoring a piece of Newport’s heart. A space that once brought people together, and will again.

🌟This is where our journey started…

For years, we looked across the road during our coffee breaks at Syner-chi. Watching this beautiful old building fade more and more into the background of Newport’s story. A landmark that once brought people together now forgotten.

But we always knew with some TLC and a lot of hard work it had huge potential. We used to sit on the bench and talk about “what if”…What if this place could be brought back to life? What if it could be a warm, inviting and friendly meeting place once again.

Then, one day, a ‘For Sale’ sign went up. in that moment a new idea was born. 🙌

We can’t wait to share details and the new name with you all in the very near future, which we are sure you are all going to love. What we can say right now, is that we care deeply about this space, this street and this community. The soul of the Six Bells remains…but something new is brewing.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing the incredible history we’ve uncovered from inside these walls - stories, photos and memories from over many years. We’d love to hear your memories too.

A Bittersweet Goodbye… and an Exciting New Beginning!

It’s with a mixture of emotions that we share this important update: Synerchi Wellbeing will be closing its doors for the final time on 30th April.

While it’s the end of an incredible chapter, it also marks the start of something brand new — a dream we’ve been quietly building behind the scenes.

When we moved from St Woolos to Caerleon Road, many of you noticed we stepped back from treatments. That’s because we’ve been pouring our hearts and souls into a brand-new project that’s been challenging, time-consuming, and so worth it. And now, it’s almost time to share it with you!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to every single one of you who has supported Synerchi over the past 7 years. Whether you popped in for a treatment, followed our page, or cheered us on from afar — your support has meant the world. Truly, if it wasn’t for our incredible clients and friends, we wouldn’t be in a position to take this next step.

A special shoutout to Beth for being an amazing support while we worked on our future — we’re so grateful.

What’s next?
Our page will soon have a fresh new look as we rebrand and reveal the next part of our journey… a transformation we’re so excited about!

Keep your eyes peeled for updates, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes magic — you won’t want to miss what’s coming next. We can’t wait to welcome you all into our new space and show you what we’ve been creating.
