August, you’ve been a good one 🌱

A little look back at some of the moments that have made up my month at RieDefine… beautiful brows, lovely clients, plenty of chats, and a little bit of life outside the salon too.

I’m so grateful to every single person who has trusted me with their brows this month, recommended me to someone else, or simply supported my little business in some way.

It really does mean more than you know 🫶

SMPU journey 🩷

From old, saturated PMU… to a fresh, fluffy set of beautiful brows 🌱

This transformation was a process… and one that required patience, this journey was 8months but soooo worth it for the outcome!

Over time, repeated pigment implantation can leave behind warm undertones as existing pigment fades, saturates and becomes blurred.

So rather than simply trying to add more pigment on top, which isn’t always successful when there is already a high level of saturation and limited space for new pigment, we took a step back.

✨ 3 x removal sessions with Erase that Ink - Laser Tattoo & Hair Removal Devon
✨ Time allowed for the skin to heal, ensuring it was safe to carry out new SMPU
✨ A fresh new brow shape created
✨ 1st stage SMPU treatment
✨ 6 weeks healing
✨ 2nd stage SMPU to redefine and refine the hairstrokes needed for the touch-up

The goal was to create as much of a fresh canvas as possible, bring the bulb areas back in and create a brow that worked beautifully with her natural hair colour.

And look at the final result… 🥹

Natural. Fluffy. Crisp. Balanced.

We were both absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

And a little honesty from me… 🩷

This was actually my original work from almost 9years ago. Even as PMU artists, our own work can sometimes need attention further down the line. Pigments evolve, skin heals and changes, and techniques develop. What looked beautiful when it was originally created can look very different years later.

Every single PMU artist will experience this. It’s part of working with permanent makeup and part of the journey which we should all be informed of at the beginning.

For me, it’s about being honest about what the brows need now and having the confidence to take a step back when necessary, rather than simply adding more pigment.

This is why patience is key when working with existing PMU. Sometimes the best results come from taking your time, allowing the skin to heal and building the brows back carefully.

✨ Wow, what a lovely surprise! ✨

I’ve been nominated for Most Talented Brow PMU Artist 2026 at the Devon Hair & Beauty Awards.

I am incredibly grateful to whoever took the time to nominate me. It honestly means so much to know that someone thought highly enough of my work to put my name forward ♥️

If I’m honest, confidence isn’t always something I have in abundance. Like many business owners, I’m often my own biggest critic, so receiving a nomination like this is such a boost and a reminder to stop and appreciate how far I’ve come 🥹

Thank you to every client, friend, family member and supporter who has been part of my journey over the last 10/11 years. Your trust, loyalty and encouragement have helped me build a business that I am so proud of.

✨ FRIENDLY CANCELLATION POLICY REMINDER ✨

I completely understand that life happens - children get poorly, work changes, emergencies come up and sometimes we simply forget appointments 🤍

As a busy working mum myself, I truly do understand how hectic life can be and I always try to be as understanding and accommodating as possible 🙏🏼 However, please also be mindful that late cancellations and no-shows do have a huge impact on small businesses, as this is my main source of income and appointment times are reserved especially for you 🩷

Unfortunately, there has been a much higher number of cancellations and last-minute changes lately, so I just wanted to gently reiterate my appointment policy:

• 48+ hours’ notice – No charge
• 24–48 hours’ notice – 50% charge
• Same-day cancellations or no-shows – 100% charge

✨ Your first missed appointment is on me 🤍
However, any future missed appointments or no-shows will be charged as outlined above.

Currently, deposits are only required for the first appointment. I’d really love to avoid having to introduce ongoing deposits for existing clients, so I truly appreciate good communication and as much notice as possible if you need to rearrange 🩷
