Unfortunately, despite confirming attendance, 5 out of the 10 patients booked into our very first FeNO Clinic did not attend their appointments today.

This clinic is part of the East Antrim Federation Pilot Project, with the FeNO machine being shared across several practices. As appointment availability is limited, every missed appointment represents a lost opportunity for another patient to be assessed.

Our Practice-Based Pharmacist had dedicated time set aside to provide this specialist service, helping to diagnose asthma more accurately and review asthma control using this new technology.

If you are unable to attend a booked appointment, even at short notice, please let us know. Cancelling your appointment allows us to offer it to another patient who may be waiting for this important assessment.

We remain committed to providing new and innovative services for our patients and hope this pilot project will demonstrate the value of FeNO testing. Your support by attending, or cancelling if you cannot, helps us make the best use of these limited appointments.

We are delighted to announce our very first FeNO Clinic is organised for 1st July as part of the East Antrim Federation Pilot Project! 🎉

Our Practice-Based Pharmacist will be able to see patients with suspected asthma or to assess control of asthma using the new FeNO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide) machine. This simple, non-invasive test measures inflammation in the airways, helping us to diagnose asthma more accurately, monitor control and ensure patients receive the most appropriate treatment.

The FeNO machines will be shared across practices within the East Antrim Federation, so appointment availability will be limited during this pilot. However, we are hopeful that the project will prove to be a success and pave the way for future funding, allowing even more patients to benefit from this valuable service.

At Notting Hill Medical Practice we are committed to continually improving the care we provide. While we work hard to meet the day-to-day healthcare needs of our patients, we also recognise the importance of proactive care. Regular reviews and dedicated clinics for people living with chronic conditions, such as asthma, allow us to work alongside our patients to optimise their health, prevent flare-ups and improve long-term outcomes.
