🎉 Racers is 20!
2026 marks 20 years of Newtownabbey Racers.

For two decades, Racers has been about much more than athletics. It’s about friendships, confidence, opportunities, achievements and being part of a club where everyone belongs.

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, over the coming months we’ll be looking back at some of the memories and people that have shaped Racers, as well as celebrating the athletes and families who make the club what it is today.

💙 THE BLUE TEAM STRIKES BACK. 💙

It’s become one of our favourite nights of the year - Yellow vs Blue. Lee vs Katrina. 😅

Last night our athletes took on the relay, the obstacle course and the legendary Splash Dash before the scores were tallied and a winner was crowned.

Going into last night Katrina and the Blue Team were 2-0 down. No pressure. 👀

And the result? Blue team take it. 💙😂

A massive thank you to Grace who organised the whole night and brought this brilliant annual event back to the calendar. We wouldn’t have it without her. 💙

All square. All to play for. See you next season Yellow Team. 😤🟡

We’re home. We’re exhausted. We’re still not over it. 💙💛

Four days in Dublin with the most incredible group of young people, families and coaches. Special Olympics Ireland Games 2026 - you did not disappoint.

We’ll be sharing more over the coming days but for now… we just want to say thank you. To every single person who has been part of this journey.

🥇🏆 DOUBLE GOLD!
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back one of our amazing Year 4 pupils today, who is returning to school with two Gold Medals after competing in the Special Olympics in Dublin this weekend with Newtownabbey Racers Special Olympics Club. What an incredible achievement. We are so proud of your hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. You are a true champion! 🌟
