Everything’s growing & the progress is really coming along down the allotment now, it’s starting to come together & so nice to be able to start sampling a few ‘homegrown’ bits!

Had to do this as her sister used to mispronounce so much & I can’t remember many these days so this can be my little reminder for my youngest! Disclaimer we don’t have knits🤣 but what’s the funniest word your little ones have mispronounced?!

Some days feel heavy, some days are harder than others & some days are very emotional or even numb, but no matter how the day feels, the fact you get through it that’s what counts, make it to a new day & tomorrow is a new chance to feel different, better & if you don’t just get through the day again, sometimes it’s just one of those days & sometimes that can be over a day or 2….generally if it starts becoming everyday or if you know what the reasoning/trigger behind it that’s when you know you need to do some healing & some work on yourself but gently & slowly, still just keep making it through each day & know you are enough just like that🫶🏼

Parenting Allotment Tip
Get them to pretend to be farmers & ‘harvest’ the weeds! It gets rid of one boring job for you & they’ll have fun for ages, once they’ve been ‘sold’ chuck them in the compost & they can go and harvest some more!!

So not only are hoglets born with their spines under their skin, we also learnt that what you believe may be a raven is not necessarily true, in our country we have small crows, the slightly bigger black birds with a grey stoney looking beak is a Rook, Ravens are actually the same size as birds of prey so you’ve actually never likely seen a wild Raven! Also we learnt that if you ever see a baby duckling on its own it needs adult intervention, they look capable of caring for itself but they aren’t, without human intervention they will die! Thank you so much to the lovely Tara for a wonderful informative but also fun session🫶🏼

Super exciting day down the allotment!! The first raspberries turning red so I picked a couple that came away easily, me & the girls tried one each they were a bit sour but so nice to know they were grown without pesticides on our allotment🫶🏼

Haha slow progress for sure, but slow progress is better than no progress right? At least when s**t hits the fan the allotment with provide my family with 3 raspberries, 5
cucumbers & half dozen
potatoes to keep us going
👌🏼

The goods are growing down the allotment!👏🏼 I’m so impatient & I really wanted to be able to plant the bits then go & collect the fruits the next day…but it doesn’t work like that! However it is nice to see all the hard work finally paying off🌞

Something I struggled with until I reminded myself to stop comparing myself to others because what you see is only snippets that they’ve chose to share, literally seconds in some cases, that doesn’t make up the other 12(or 24) hours of the day! Someone on here could seem so happy, like they have a loving partner, brilliant behaved kids, a beautiful today home, plenty of food, recourses and money to buy whatever else needed, but that can all be an illusion…what’s to say the only reason they’re cuddling is because they’ve made up from an argument? Everyone’s child can behave well for a moment…someone can tidy up one small area where they create content while the rest is a mess & they may seem like they are struggling when actually they could be drowning in debt, or struggling with their mental health…you just never know! That’s not to say that everyone is like that, there are people who are happy, have all the fab things they’re showing & that’s okay too…we must remember that everyone & their life is different & as long as we can be happy it doesn’t matter how that compares 👌🏼🫶🏼
