Well, Tarsha did so well on her fundraising walk (at present £2700+ raised) she believes she deserves a new harness or two...didn't expect this delivery though Booskips. Hope you enjoy Angela. Her agent 🤣 will be in touch soon to chat fabrics.

Well, over the weekend of 6th June, Tarsha smashed it.

Due to getting a small injury the week before her walk, I decided to split her one long Loch walk into 3 shorter walks. First, she did the circular walk of Loch Morlich. The next day was the main fundraising walk around Loch an Eilein, and then finally on Sunday she did a walk around Tullochgrue.

All in all, over those 3 days, she managed 8.9 miles in her wheelchair, relying on her stroller for the remaining 1.1 of her expected 10 miles. I hope supporters and those who donated forgive this brave little girl having a lift for the last few steps.

In total, she has raised just over £2600 for www.dmtdrsg.org , which is incredible.

To think this little girl gained so much support from all over the country really is heartwarming, and seeing first hand how generous people remain in the current economic climate was wonderful.

Anyway, here’s a montage of those three walks. Apologies, I didn’t in the end take many photos or videos around Loch an Eilein as I was too busy talking to fellow adopters about their precious adopted dogs.

It was a wonderful day, and I’m privileged to be part of this like-minded dog-loving extended family and so honoured that Tarsha has played a small part in raising much-needed funds.

If you have not donated already, don’t worry; her JustGiving page will run for around 3 months after the closing date, so there’s still time to add £1 or £2 to her total.

Thanks for the support, and all being well, we will see everyone next year, Saturday, June 5th, 2027.

Well, it's the night before Tarsha's big walk to raise money for Dog Meat Trade Dachshund Rescue.

Today we had a lovely circular walk around Loch Morlich, and the weather was so kind to us.

Hoping tomorrow is a nice weather day too for everyone joining the wheeled wonder. Looking forward to meeting all the other hero rescues.

Tarsha is snoring her head off next to me, after demanding non-stop belly rubs...is this how an athlete trains for a big sporting event 🤭🤣?

No better place for us to stay than Glenmore Campsite With direct access to Loch Morlich and the Glenmore Forest, why would Tarsha stay anywhere else?

For those of you who didn’t know, Tarsha managed to hurt herself late last week and caused a nasty wound on her upper inner thigh. Typically, this happens just a few days before the Dog Meat Trade Dachshund Rescue Fundraising Walk!

The wound is right where I need to gently press to express her bladder, and it’s also right where her wheelchair foam supports rest 🫤. I was concerned this wasn’t going to heal in time, so off to the vet we went. The vet was really happy with how quickly the wound is healing and asked us just to keep doing what we’re doing. I thought she might need glue or stitching, but luckily no. However, the vet did say to keep her use of the wheelchair to a minimum until Saturday, and even then, just keep a eye on her.

Now, there’s no way we wouldn’t make it up to Aviemore, so I decided to look into ordering a stroller so that Tarsha can do the walk comfortably and take a well-earned breather if she needs one. Only one company had the Innopet stroller to the spec we needed and could deliver in time for the walk, and that company was Pets Own Us. I can’t thank them enough for their help and advice and on top of that they also offered the stroller at cost price, which has saved Tarsha raiding her Emergency Treat Fund for another day. Thank you, Pets Own Us, for your generosity; it was not expected but so gratefully accepted. Please also check out their socials

Pets Own Us has saved the day so Miss Tarsha continues to roll in style!

❣️💕❣️ALVIE ADOPTION ❣️💕❣️

WHERE IS ALVIE’S FOREVER FAMILY??? EVERY DAY WE HOPE THEY WILL SEE THIS PAGE AND SAY “LET’S APPLY!!”

Alvie has so many wonderful traits that would make him a perfect companion, and yet the interest level is not as we would expect for such a lovely boy. We have had only a modest number of applications from both adoption exercises and from those, unfortunately, we were not able to make a match. 😢

Maybe people are focused on summer holidays and end of school year, not on adding a new dog to the house. Maybe it’s the algorithm playing up. Whatever the reason, we have to keep trying because Alvie needs us to find him a family to love and cherish him. 🥺

Look at our sweet, gorgeous Alvie with his classic black & tan stunning appeal! At only 7 years young, he has plenty of love, companionship and energy to share…plus all that comes with the gratitude of an “older” rescue who knows he has been given a second chance at happiness. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the right match on the first adoption exercise so we are extending the search until we find a family and cozy sofa for this lovely, deserving boy. We never give up!

💛 About ALVIE

At You Sachen Karamom, Alvie is calm and composed and takes life slowly, preferring his walks to be leisurely strolls. Alvie loves food and, as a result, is carrying some extra weight but once he is home that is easily sorted. He is people friendly, making eye contact with the staff and strangers and asking for affection. He knows some commands, like sit and wait, which may have been learned at his previous home. At the boarding facility, Alvie coexists nicely with the other dogs and shows no signs of aggression. He is a true gentleman!

🐾 Alvie’s Story

Alvie was found in a kill shelter in just before Christmas, December 2025 by You Sachun Karamom, in South Korea. He’s has adapted well to his new environment and has become more comfortable and trusting with the safe people who are now his carers. Whilst we don’t know what his previous life was like, after losing his home and his frightening experience in a kill shelter, he has felt safe, cared for, and loved at You Sachun Karamom.

🏡 What He Needs

Like all our rescues, Alvie will need time, patience and security to blossom into his best, unique self. As he is a bit over his healthy weight, Alvie would benefit from a weight management program and regular exercise, starting at his pace, to build up muscle and stamina. 🏋️

📩 Ready to Welcome Him Home?

If you feel you can offer Alvie the patience, love, and stability he deserves, we’d love to hear from you. He’s waiting for someone special, perhaps that someone is you? Please apply via the link below ⬇️ which we will keep open until we secure his perfect home 🏡
