Medal Monday for a mixed bunch taking on the EMF Haggis Relay.

👴One OAP on his first run back after hernia surgery.
🧙‍♂️One unfit PhD wizard.
😴One sleep-deprived, semi-unfit dad.
🤩And one “let’s do it for the craic” runner.

Outcome: 9th team 🙌

It was also lovely to catch up with a former colleague and Jarrow teammate, Caroline.

It was great to be out today representing the England Masters Half Marathon Championships and to share the experience with my sister, fellow Jarrow athletes, and so many brilliant runners.

Personally, after 7 weeks of training with a new coaching set-up, this felt like a really solid start to the block. Huge thanks to Josh for the guidance and support so far. To run 1:32:04, finish 84th female and 12th in F45, off the back of a hectic week of travel, uni assignments and very little sleep, is something I’m really pleased with.

It was also brilliant to catch up with my client, Paul.

Paul came to me a few years ago, thinking his competitive running days were over. After an initial rehab plan, I coached and guided him through two London Marathons and encouraged him to target the masters championships and secure his age category in the half marathon.

Today’s result reflects his due diligence, dedication, and openness to change.

Well done, Paul 💪

A really positive day all round, with some cracking performances and plenty to build on as we head towards those winter goals.

Onwards 💪

After a well-deserved break from marathon training and a chance to mix it up on the turbo over the winter 🚴‍♂️ (secretly I’m just getting old and turning into a fair-weather runner 😅) . I'm slowly building back up for the Swansea Half 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and ticked off my first trail session with Trail North up at Thrunton Woods 🌲🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🦮

👇

Trail session. 2 mile warm up, 8x2mins uphill ⬆️ 2:30 jog recovery. 2 mile cool down. works vO2 max without the excessive impact and builds fatigue resistance. Greater glute and hamstring recruitment and stronger calf and achilles loading.

If you're interested in trail running give a follow..All abilities welcome 💪

Saturday, well spent!

Catching up with friends for Clare’s 50th parkrun on her 50th birthday, followed by a quick dash to the Turkish baths to defrost.

Then spending the rest of the day completing the Parkinson’s UK Foundation Programme as part of my Master’s degree. It’s a free course, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who may be impacted by Parkinson’s, either directly or indirectly. It’s packed with informative and supportive resources.

"I always try to do what I can for Movember and to support men’s mental health, and this event is something that means a lot to me because of that.

The Remembering Robbie 10K social walk/run is held in memory of Robbie Livermore, who sadly passed away on 17th January 2019.

This is a chance to remember a true legend in a special and meaningful way. Robbie was a keen runner — but you absolutely don’t have to be. Whether you choose to run, walk, or simply chat your way around, it’s about coming together, sharing stories, and celebrating the impact Robbie had on all of us.

The event will start at St George’s Church, Cullercoats, at 6:00pm on Saturday 17th January 2026. The 10K route will take us along the coast to St Mary’s Lighthouse and back.

Please share this event so we can get as many people there for Robbie as possible."
