What a great year at new peaks it’s been!!

It’s been a busy year with a new session been added. The new addition to a lunchtime session along with the morning and evening sessions have gone down well. Working from home for a lot of people has opened up some options.

There have been many highlights this year:

The first pregnant member to stick with training until the day before she gave birth 😳 honestly the picture on the top left was the day before she gave birth 🫣 I will be doing a separate post on this in due time. She was amazing!

Getting wedding fit even with a hectic work schedule

Reversing pre-diabetes status

Getting bridesmaid ready

Fixing old and new injuries of various sorts 👨🏻‍🔧

Losing kilos from the scales

Getting fitter and stronger every month. So many personal bests have been smashed this year!

A full year without a lockdown messing up training schedules 🎉

A great year!!

With a personal note I’ve also had a big year with getting engaged in the summer and also gaining a member to our family… a cat 😬💍🐈

Thank you to all the ladies who have been a part of this crazy group it’s been a pleasure!

I can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for New Peaks Fitness

Happy 10 year anniversary ❤️

Today has been 10 years since I started my fitness career!

It’s been an absolute roller coaster ride of 10 years!

Here’s a little run down of what I’ve been up to 🙄

It started off being a personal trainer at Puregym when it first opened. With a crazy bunch of personal trainers who were all in the same bag as me… the start line! It was brilliant to be a part of that with the DON that is Daz at the helm. Honestly I have many fond memories of those first couple of years.

I wanted a change up though by going on to compete a masters and becoming UKSCA accredited coach.

At that time I was working at Pure, doing an internship at Northants Cricket and doing classes at Daventry leisure centre. That most definitely was a stand out year of working!

Then I moved from Puregym all together for 3 years while I moved to tennis to be a strength and conditioning coach at Gosling sports park. Coaching a wide variety of athletes from the age of 5 to older athletes. Even getting involved with some wheelchair rugby players. This time of amazing for me as a coach to develop and try (and fail) at various different ideas of training. These years really cemented my foundations of coaching and how I run sessions.

After the commuting every day to welywn garden city every day killed me, I moved back to Puregym to be Kev’s right hand man for about a year. Seeing the big revamp of the club go through and the disco ball being removed!

I wanted to do more coaching though…. Management wasn’t for me.

So went back to being a strength and conditioning coach for a couple of years at Bedford Modern School. Teaching kids is very rewarding, they learn so fast! Fantastic school and some great athletes of the future.

At the same time New Peaks Fitness was formed with two of my good mates Nath and Spence. With the intention of coaching and helping more people than ever before. Group based personal training at a high standard rather than the normal sh*tty bootcamp of doing burpees until you are tired.

Which was all running great until….

COVID

I guess everyone’s life was turned upside down including mine!

During the lockdowns at various stages, new peaks went to being just me, I worked at Waitrose in the early mornings and personal trained people in parks and gardens under a gazebo 😂

It was rather a shock to the system.

But now the fallout of that is that I’m running new peaks fitness from selected fitness. Josh kindly took me in from the park and it has never been better!

Currently I’m working the amazing groups that is new peaks. Personal training at selected. Looking to open up another studio called sweat box with Josh and Liam. Also working at harpenden sports and spinal…. I do like to keep busy 😉😬

I will be having a beer and some nice food to celebrate this evening.
