Building Connections Through Community 💚

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Memory Café at Northampton Saints Foundation and spending time with the wonderful Barbara and the team.

It was fantastic to meet local people, share conversations, and see first-hand the positive impact these sessions have on individuals living with dementia and their families. Memory Cafés provide a welcoming space where people can connect, find support, and enjoy meaningful social interaction.

At Home Instead Northampton, we are passionate about supporting people to live well in their communities, and partnerships like these are invaluable in helping us reach those who may need advice, information, or simply a friendly chat.

Thank you to Barbara and everyone at Saints Foundation for such a warm welcome. I look forward to continuing our friendship and supporting future events together.

Mum has dementia and lives with us in an annex. The companionship care from Home Instead gives her the opportunity to visit places she enjoys and spend time with others. She looks forward to the visits and we have found all the carers to be very friendly, caring and compassionate towards Mum. The service is very flexible and takes the pressure off, as well as giving us peace of mind knowing we can call on additional support when needed as her care needs change.

I’ll be speaking about understanding dementia, practical support, communication, and how we can help people living with dementia stay connected, valued, and supported.

Home Instead carers and office support staff have been excellent and responsive to all needs over the last 2 years. Their carers have built genuine relationship with my father, which he has found invaluable and much appreciated. This included a period of hospitalisation when they maintained contact with him through daily visits, during a very difficult time for both him and the family. They cannot be praised highly enough. They have treated him with dignity and respect in a caring and inclusive manner at all times. I would recommend Home Instead to anyone needing home care support.
