Infant, Maternal & Women's Wellbeing Specialist
Supporting babies, parents and women through key life transitions with evidence-informed, nurturing care. Welcome to Huddle & Bliss

I’m Sherry Prosser, an Infant & Maternal Wellbeing Specialist based at The Maple Tree Clinic in Northampton. My work combines nervous system regulation, bonding and attachment, developmental insight, dige

stion and settling support, and gentle, evidence-informed care for both mother and baby. Alongside my private practice, I also provide specialist infant wellbeing support within Residential Family Assessment Units, working closely with staff teams to strengthen parent–baby relationships in more complex circumstances. Whether you are navigating a fractious baby, birth trauma, feeding tension, digestive discomfort, or simply wanting to lay the very best foundations for your family, I’m here to help you feel calmer, more confident and deeply supported. In addition to my signature classes and workshops, I offer Half-Day and Full-Day Home Calm Sessions — restorative, unhurried in-home support that brings calm, comfort and clarity into your fourth trimester. These sessions allow me to observe your baby's natural rhythm, support you emotionally, and gently guide your baby into a more regulated, settled state. My approach is warm, no-fluff, and grounded in science. I believe that both parents and babies thrive when they feel seen, held and understood — and every part of my work reflects that. Calm • Comfort • Connection
The foundations of everything I do.

I was told I was too young.
I was 38 or 39 years old.

I'd not long had my second baby.
I was experiencing mood swings, night sweats and a whole range of changes that, looking back now, I recognise immediately.

At the time, however, I was told it was PMS.
I was told I was far too young for anything menopausal.
So I carried on.

I was busy.
I had young children.
I was juggling work, family life and all the demands that come with it.
Every symptom was explained away.

Stress.
Hormones.
Motherhood.
Life.

Five years later, my periods stopped abruptly.
And suddenly it all made sense.

I hadn't been imagining it.
I hadn't been overreacting.
I hadn't been "just stressed."
I had been experiencing perimenopause all along.

Looking back, I coped.
I got through it.
But if I had known then what I know now, it would have been a very different experience.
Not because I could have stopped it.
But because I would have understood it.
I would have recognised what was happening.
I would have been able to make informed choices and put supportive foundations in place much earlier.

That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about helping women understand perimenopause.

Not because I want women to fear it.
Quite the opposite.
I want women to recognise it.
To understand it.
To prepare for it.
To take control where they can.

Because this isn't just a phase to survive.
For many of us, this is the beginning of the second half of life.
And I want that second half to be strong.

Healthy.
Confident.
Active.
And lived to the full.

If I can help women do that with better information than I had, then this conversation is worth having.

If you'd like to learn more, I'd love to see you at my upcoming Understanding & Managing Perimenopausal Change workshop.

Drop me a message or comment "WORKSHOP" and I'll send you the details.

*Photo of the Week*

Sometimes the most important part of a class isn’t the activity we planned.

It’s the moment a little one decides they need a cuddle.

This little boy came over to me during class and simply wanted some comfort. So we paused.

No rushing. No distracting. No trying to fix it.

Just a few quiet moments of feeling safe, held and understood.

As adults, we often forget that regulation isn’t something we do alone. It happens in relationship. Through connection. Through presence. Through another nervous system helping us find our feet again.

Children know this instinctively.

When they need us, they come close.

And when we respond, they learn something incredibly important:

“When things feel difficult, I don’t have to manage it all by myself.”

For me, this photograph captures so much of what Huddle & Bliss is about.

Not milestones.
Not performance.
Not getting it right.

Connection first.

Everything else grows from there. 💚

When I created Prenatal Body & Mind, I wasn't sure how women would respond.

What I discovered was that many expectant mothers were looking for something quite different.

They didn't necessarily want another weekly class, a rigid programme or a diary full of commitments.

What they wanted was support.
A chance to slow down.
Time to focus on themselves.
Help to stay comfortable and strong as their body changes.
Space to ask questions and talk things through.
Guidance that felt practical, evidence-informed and personal.

That got me thinking.
What if pregnancy support could be more flexible?
What if women could access personalised support throughout the final months of pregnancy, without feeling tied to a weekly timetable?

For the past year, I've been developing something designed around exactly that idea.
Something that supports body, mind and preparation for motherhood.

More details coming soon...

“Hello… are you new here too?” 🤍

These two spent much of today’s session quietly watching each other.

No toys.
No flashing lights.
No elaborate entertainment.

Just two babies, noticing another little person sharing their space.

It’s a beautiful reminder that babies are wired for connection from the very beginning. Long before words, they are watching faces, studying expressions, noticing movement and learning about the people around them.

Sometimes the most valuable part of a mother and baby class isn’t the massage, the movement, the songs or the activities.

It’s the relationships that begin to grow.

For the babies discovering the world around them.

And for the parents discovering they’re not navigating it alone.

Today, these two little ones seemed to have found a new friend. 🤍

The science of development is fascinating. The simplicity of connection is even more so.

We need to change the conversation around self care.
Particularly for women.

Somewhere along the way, self care became positioned as a treat.
Something luxurious.
Something indulgent.
Something you earn once you've worked hard enough, cared for everyone else, or reached complete exhaustion.
A spa day is lovely.
A massage is lovely.
A quiet coffee alone is lovely.

But those things should never be confused with the necessity of regular self care.
Because real self care is not about occasional escape.
It is about ongoing maintenance.
Just as we service a car before it breaks down, our minds and bodies also need regular care and attention , not just crisis management once the warning lights are already flashing.

And yet so many women have been conditioned to believe that:
• rest must be justified
• slowing down is laziness
• everybody else comes first
• exhaustion is normal
• burnout is simply part of modern life
It isn't.

Self care is not selfish.
It is not weakness.

And it is not a reward for reaching breaking point.
It is one of the most important forms of physical and emotional maintenance we have.

Sometimes self care looks calming and restorative.
Sometimes it looks like:
• eating properly
• moving your body
• getting enough sleep
• regulating your nervous system
• saying no without guilt
• asking for help
• stepping outside for ten minutes
• taking a breath before carrying on

The goal should never be to repeatedly recover from depletion.
The goal is to support yourself well enough that depletion stops becoming the norm.

A spa day is a treat.
Looking after yourself regularly is maintenance.
And maintenance is not optional.

Menopause isn't the problem.

That sounds provocative, but hear me out.
Menopause is one day.
Literally.
It's the point at which you've gone 12 months without a period.

What most women actually experience is perimenopause.
The years leading up to menopause when hormones begin to fluctuate and change.

The years of:
• Altered sleep
• Reduced resilience to stress
• Brain fog
• Changes in mood and confidence
• Anxiety and overwhelm
• Feeling less like yourself
• A body that suddenly seems to respond differently

And here's the problem...
Many women don't realise what's happening.
Their periods may still be regular.
They're still working, parenting, caring, managing and getting on with life.
So they put the changes down to stress.
Being busy.
Getting older.
Not coping as well as they used to.

When in reality, perimenopause may already be playing a major role.
This isn't about fear.
It's about awareness.

Because understanding what's happening allows you to make informed choices.

It allows you to support your body, your brain and your nervous system.
It allows you to prepare rather than simply react.
And that matters because this isn't just a phase to get through.
For many women, this is the beginning of the second half of life.
And that's worth understanding.

If you'd like to learn more about what's happening during perimenopause, what's normal, what isn't, and what you can do to support yourself, I'll be covering all of this in my upcoming workshop.

Drop me a message or comment "WORKSHOP" and I'll send you the details.
