Yes, I’m reapplying my sunscreen. And no, this is not extra.
Sunscreen does not last all day. Full stop.
Even the best formula breaks down. Sweat, wiping your face, touching your skin, going in and out of water. All of it removes your protection layer by layer. Most people apply once in the morning and think they’re covered. They are not.
And before you say “but I use mineral, it doesn’t break down chemically.” You’re right. Zinc oxide does not degrade the way chemical filters do. But it still physically rubs off. It still gets displaced. That film on your skin? It has a life span.
Here is what you are actually protecting against when you reapply:
Photoageing. UV radiation is the single biggest driver of premature skin ageing. Fine lines, uneven skin tone, loss of elasticity. Not genetics. Not stress. Sun exposure, accumulating over decades.
And skin cancer. The most preventable of all cancers. Reapplication is not vanity. It is biology.
The general recommendation is every two hours outdoors, or immediately after swimming or sweating heavily.

Reapply. Every time.
