There is a saying: “two steps forward, three steps back.” Sometimes, shifting the focus can be helpful.

Do you focus on the steps lost, or on the feeling of going backwards? In doing so, it can become easy to forget the progress that has been made. Harsh self-criticism can follow, and we may begin to dismiss what was once going well.

Often, we focus so much on what feels lost that we overlook what has already been gained. But nothing truly goes all the way back to the beginning – it is more often a stumble than a return to zero. We can pause, regain our footing, and continue from where we are.

A setback does not erase the progress that came before it. We never return to the exact same starting point because every experience leaves us with new knowledge, insight, and strength.

Changing this perspective can create space for greater self-compassion, understanding, and grace.

PCOS is now being renamed to PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

This change matters because the condition is about much more than “ovarian cysts”. Many women with PCOS don’t even have cysts, while many struggle daily with hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, weight changes, irregular periods, fertility challenges, acne, anxiety, fatigue, and metabolic health issues.

The new name better reflects the reality of this condition:
💜 Hormonal
💜 Metabolic
💜 Reproductive
💜 Mental and emotional health

A name change alone won’t fix everything, but better understanding can lead to earlier diagnosis, less stigma, better treatment, and stronger support for millions living with this condition.

Awareness matters. Listening matters. Women’s health matters.

“No man ever steps into the same river twice, because neither the man nor the river are ever the same.”

Life changes us.
Pain changes us.
Healing changes us.

The version of you from yesterday is not the version of you today — and that is okay.

Growth often happens quietly, through reflection, resilience, and learning to move forward with greater understanding of ourselves.

Counselling is not about becoming someone different.
It’s about reconnecting with who you are becoming. 🌿

PMDD by the numbers…

• Affects up to 1 in 20 women
• Symptoms can last 1–2 weeks every cycle
• Often misdiagnosed as depression or anxiety

The reality?

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a serious, cyclical condition that can significantly affect mood, energy, and daily functioning.

It can impact work, relationships, and self-esteem in a way that can feel intense, unpredictable, and isolating.

Because the pattern repeats each month, it’s often misunderstood or overlooked.

You are not “too sensitive”.
You are not imagining it.

Support, understanding, and the right diagnosis can make a real difference 🌿

If this resonates with you, reaching out to a healthcare professional or counsellor can be an important first step.

Therapy won’t tell you what to do — it’s not a quick fix.

It’s a space for reflection, support, and guidance, helping you explore your options and make informed choices for yourself.

Therapy is about empowerment, insight, and growth, not instant solutions.
