A little reintroduction… 👋🏼

I’m Jo, I’m 40 and I’m the face behind Jo Spaull Coaching.

I’m a health, wellness and fitness coach, sports massage therapist and injury rehabilitation specialist but my work is about so much more than simply exercising or treating an injury.

I help people feel stronger, healthier and more confident in their bodies, often during times when life, health or hormones have made that feel a little more difficult.

My areas of work include:

✨ Strength, fitness and sustainable fat loss
✨ Sports massage, injury rehabilitation and pain management
✨ Perimenopause and menopause support
✨ Nutrition, gut health and healthy habit change
✨ Mindset, confidence and NLP-based coaching
✨ Stress management, breathwork and relaxation
✨ Returning to exercise after injury, illness or time away
✨ Helping people build a healthier relationship with movement and their bodies

I work with people of all ages and abilities through one-to-one coaching, personal training, online support and hands-on therapy. There is no expectation that you should already be “fit”, confident or know exactly what you’re doing before you come to me, that’s what I’m here to help with.

My approach is supportive, realistic and completely individual. No judgement, no shouting and no quick fixes, just expert guidance, encouragement, plenty of honesty and usually a good laugh along the way.

Away from work, I’m Jo: dog-obsessed, happily surrounded by dachshunds and a silver Labrador, trying to practise what I preach and still navigating the realities of being a 40-year-old woman with a busy life and a body that doesn’t always read the plan! 😂

If you’re new here, hello and welcome and if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for continuing to follow and support me. 🤍

We’re all walking past each other… but not really seeing each other 🌿

Thought of the day…

On my dog walk today I noticed something small, but quite powerful…

So many people passing by without a smile or a “hello”. And I get it, everyone has their own world, their own thoughts, their own pressures.

But I can’t help thinking… how different could the day feel with just a simple moment of connection?

A smile costs nothing. A nod. A “morning”.
Stranger to stranger, just a brief reminder that we’re all human, all sharing the same space.

It might not change the world… but it might just change someone’s moment. 🤍

And in a world that’s becoming more and more online, there’s something really powerful about real, in-person connection. That human element still matters.

You don’t have to be injured to need a sports massage…

Most people wait until something hurts before they take action…
Tight calves, aching hips, stiff lower back… or shoulders creeping up by your ears, constant neck tension and poor posture from long days at a desk - sound familiar?

👉 Sports massage isn’t just about fixing injuries, it’s about preventing them, improving how your body moves, and helping you feel better day-to-day.

Here’s how it helps:

• Relieves muscle tension & tightness
• Improves mobility & flexibility
• Eases neck, shoulder & back pain (especially desk-related)
• Speeds up recovery from training
• Reduces risk of injury
• Supports posture & alignment

This is for YOU if:

✔️ You train regularly (gym, classes, running)
✔️ You sit at a desk for long hours
✔️ You’ve got recurring aches or “ni**les”
✔️ You’re feeling stiff, tight or restricted
✔️ You want to move and feel better in your body

And if you are currently building up mileage or working towards something like the London Marathon… this becomes even more important 👀
Looking after your body now = better performance and less chance of injury later.

Every session is tailored to you, whether that’s targeted injury rehab, deep tissue work, or a full-body reset.

Don’t wait until your body forces you to stop, stay ahead of it.

👉 If you’re starving by 10am… your breakfast is the problem.

Your breakfast sets the tone for your entire day… and most people are getting it wrong. ⚡️

Starting your day with high-sugar cereals = a quick energy spike… followed by an inevitable crash.

That blood sugar rollercoaster doesn’t just affect your energy, it impacts your hunger, cravings, focus, and even your food choices for the rest of the day.

👉 Think: mid-morning slump
👉 Constant snacking
👉 Reaching for quick sugar fixes
👉 Feeling starving not long after eating

Instead, build a stable breakfast:
✔️ Protein (eggs, Greek yogurt, protein oats)
✔️ Fibre (fruit, oats, chia, whole grains)
✔️ Healthy fats (nuts, seeds, nut butter)

This combination slows down digestion, stabilises blood sugar, keeps you fuller for longer and gives you sustained energy, not peaks and crashes.

It’s not about perfection… it’s about giving your body what it actually needs to function well. 💫

Start your day balanced, and everything else becomes easier.

If you’re struggling with energy, cravings or consistency with nutrition this is where we start.

✨ Hybrid & online coaching available, message me to find out more.

“You don’t realise how restricted you are… until your body starts asking for help.”

Mobility and flexibility are often the missing link in people’s training and daily life.

Tight hips, stiff ankles, restricted shoulders… They don’t just affect your workouts, they show up in how you walk, sit, bend, reach and move every single day.

👉 That “ni**le” you keep ignoring?
👉 The stiffness first thing in the morning?
👉 That one side that always feels tighter?

That’s your body compensating.

Left unaddressed, these small dysfunctions can lead to:

– Poor movement patterns
– Increased injury risk
– Reduced strength + performance
– Chronic tightness or pain

But the flip side? 👇

When you start to work on your mobility:
✨ Movement feels smoother
✨ Strength improves
✨ Pain reduces
✨ You feel more in control of your body

This isn’t about being “flexible”… it’s about moving WELL.

✔️ Build it into your routine (even 5–10 mins counts)
✔️ Focus on quality, not just stretching for the sake of it
✔️ Address restrictions, don’t ignore them

Your body will always adapt… the question is, what are you asking it to adapt to?
