Ok, so we know this procedure is fake, but if it was real could you see men saying yes willingly and without question!

The majority of women I work with assume a cervical sweep is a normal part of being pregnant. They are unaware it’s a form of intervention, a part of induction (often promoted as a way to avoid medical induction) and comes with risks.

As always it is a choice. Your choice. But as I’ve said time and time and time again, you can only make informed choices if you are fully informed!

This reel was inspired by and podcast, Birth Untethered, S2E14.

If you have a male partner, and they squirmed so hard watching this that they tasted their ar****le in the back of their throat, ask them if they know all your birth options and are ready to support you. They are way more important than they think!

If you are and would like to attend a weekly movement class that includes information to help you on your pregnancy and birth prep. journey, please check out Bump Yoga+

1) Medicalised birth has increased significantly
2) We have published evidence/researched papers clearly showing the benefits of exercise during pregnancy
3) I’m seeing more women entering pregnancy with health conditions

Now we know, specifically, without doubt, the benefits of exercise during pregnancy, why is it not being shouted from the rooftops. Why, when it can help in many different areas, is it not being promoted in medical appointments.

Benefits:
🟣 Improves energy
🟣 Reduces risk of preeclampsia
🟣 Aids managing weight gain
🟣 Helps ease pains and discomforts
🟣 Reduces swelling
🟣 Helps the pelvic floor beyond kegals
🟣 Improves circulation
🟣 Reduces risk of developing gestational diabetes
🟣 Supports healthy fetal growth
🟣 Gives you better sleep quality
🟣 Reduces stress
🟣 Helps with labour and birth
🟣 Maintains muscle tone and strength

If you’ve been told exercise during pregnancy is unsafe and you’re navigating a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy, please question their guidance. And if you have any questions please never hesitate to ask.

Babyfit offers:

How exercise helps with birth and self doubt.

During any workout, there is often a point where you question yourself, second guess your ability, doubt whether you can do it. Then you reach the end and realise you are WAY stronger than you thought. The achievement of finishing feels good and slowly and surely, week after week your confidence grows.

On your birth giving day, no matter how it unfolds, there will likely be a time, at some point, where you will question yourself, doubt your ability and strength and say ‘I can’t do it’. But you can and exercise, before and during pregnancy, can contribute and go a long way to helping that positive connection and mindset.

You are stronger than you think and you can do it ❤️

What week of pregnancy should I start pregnancy yoga and up until what week should I continue up until? These are questions pregnancy yoga teachers get asked all the time.

The answer however depends on how YOU feel. It is not black and white.

In the absence of research, exercise and movement was deemed ‘unsafe’ but now we know exercise and movement comes with massive benefits, and the word ‘unsafe’ needs to jog off!

Your body, your baby, your pelvis, your hips, your back will not regret attending, and of course you have the detachment from the outside world and opportunity to destress.

So as long as you do not have any health complications or contraindications, then you are good to go and carry on for as long as you can and feel able.

My next block of bump yoga+ classes start on 21st May over at Thorpe End Village Hall. Booking is now available through the website.

You are a beautiful individual whose journey back to running will be unique to you.

Adding impact steadily and mindfully will ensure your whole body is happy on that progressive path.

What’s working for your mum friend might not be what you need, and I appreciate how annoying and frustrating this is. Being told in black and white is far easier but the human body doesn’t work that way ❤️

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
