Celebrating Our Incredible Team at Moriah House 🌟

Today, we'd like to recognise and celebrate three truly exceptional members of our Moriah House family.

💙 Wendy, our wonderful Activities Co-ordinator, is celebrating an incredible 10 years of service with us. For a decade, Wendy has brought joy, creativity, laughter, and meaningful experiences to our residents.

💙 Claire, our fantastic Domestic Assistant, consistently goes above & beyond in her role. Claire shows hard work, attention to detail, and is committed to help make Moriah House a welcoming and comfortable home for everyone.

💙 And a huge congratulations to Myrna, our outstanding Senior Care Assistant, who has recently received a Award through Pollard's Promises following a well-deserved nomination. Myrna's dedication and commitment to our home is truly remarkable. She leads by example every day and handles emergency situations with exceptional care, calmness, and professionalism, always ensuring the wellbeing of our residents and team.

Thank you, Wendy, Claire, and Myrna, for your passion, dedication, and the difference you make at Moriah House every day. We are so grateful to have you as part of our team.

New hobbies incoming…🧶❤️

One of our residents have been hard at work after taking up a new hobby. Betty is currently making us a new scarf & we cannot wait to see the finished result.

It's been wonderful to see her confidence and creativity grow as she learns a new skill.

Our in-house bus stop is more than just a feature in our home 💙🚎

For individuals living with dementia, feelings of confusion, uncertainty, or wanting to “go home” can sometimes become overwhelming and this can be a really upset moment for us. Our bus stop provides a comforting place to pause, rest, and feel safe. It gives our residents the opportunity to sit with staff, chat about treasured memories of home life, and receive reassurance in a calm and familiar setting.

Small touches like this can make a really big difference in supporting our wellbeing and strengthen connections within the home.

Our residents have enjoyed a lovely visit to the local shops, making the most of the beautiful sunshine ☀️🛍️

Community visits are important to us as they help us feel connected as well as maintaining independence and enjoy meaningful social interactions outside the home.

Even a simple outing can bring smiles, spark memories, and brighten the whole day.

Every Monday, our lovely Hair dresser Megan brings not only her talent, but also her kindness, care, and friendly smile to our home. Our residents truly look forward to seeing her each week, enjoying a pamper, a chat, and leaving feeling refreshed and looking fabulous.

Game faces on and competition underway!

We’ve had a fantastic time taking part in some friendly competitive table games today! From lots of laughter to a little healthy rivalry, the home was filled with smiles, concentration, and plenty of cheering.

Activities like these are a wonderful way to encourage social interaction, keep minds active, and most importantly for us to have fun together! 🎲🎱
