We so often hear people say "we have to speak for the plants because they can't speak for themselves."

But is this really true, that plants can't speak for themselves?

Or is that we have lost the skill of listening, and in fact are experts at disregarding the message "no?"

The modern western world flagrantly disregards the process of permission and consent from plant medicines when making so called "indigenous medicines."
And whether you realize it or not, this is having an effect on what the plant world is willing to provide to humankind, and also the efficacy and wisdom that is being offered through these medicines.

Not everyone can truly listen.
Who are you trusting to be able to listen to the plants, see the signs being offered, and make medicine that is based on a process of deep observation?

The deeper you go into this work, the more carefully you will choose.
When permission is not asked, cacao notices.

The medicine shows itself, when consent is freely given.
How could it be any other way?

indigenous work is not human centered. Instead when we say all our relations it means all beings in this planet including rocks, trees, rivers, all animals all beings no matter how small or large. Add to this that we are connected to these beings presently and as ancestors then our circle of support and community is much larger. It also is interdependent and the level of responsibility is much greater than in western society.

We do not heal for ourselves alone but because we know we are connected and must bring things back to balance for all our environments which are affected by when we are out of balance.

When we accept ourselves in this way we are accepting ourselves as natural creation of earth mother.

Relaxing evening drawing .willow.96 last night (although tbh it doesn't do her justice!), who lay super still for us all. Thanks to for hosting and half time treats (chocolate brownies, nomnom).
