We were honoured to have a stall at the launch of the Notts Q***r History Project on Friday at Central Library.

It was lovely to see some familiar faces and to make some new friends, and to talk about the service and the q***r history in Nottingham.

We are always so touched to hear people’s stories about our service from the last few decades, we appreciate you all.

is doing an outstanding job at creating the Q***r History Archive. One thing that stands out is how strong the LGBTQ+ community is - and has always been - in our city. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

This weekend, most of our team managed to escape to the countryside for a nice staycation to celebrate our lovely Maria - we rarely get to do things a team so photographic evidence felt right.

As a team, we work hard, pull together and go above and beyond to ensure our service runs well, so it was nice to take a step back and enjoy each others company, away from the distractions and busy-ness of the working week.

Here’s to a weekend of laughter, nature and good company.

The Wellbeing Hub has been running a monthly respiratory clinic, offering valuable support and care to those who need it. Building on this, The Health Shop has now successfully hosted our first clinic as an addition to the service.

This is a fantastic development, making respiratory support more accessible to those who are homeless and/or vulnerable houses. Patients receive a full respiratory examination with an on-site consultant, pharmacist and nurse. Observations offered include sputum culture, blood sampling, lung function testing and referral for x-rays and CT scans. Typical treatments available in the clinic include inhalers, antibiotics and steroid treatments.

Those attending can also access services we offer including harm reduction advice, BBV and STI testing and referrals to other services.

We want to say a big thank you to everybody involved in making this happen!

This Sunday was International Women’s Day.

We are thinking of the women experiencing oppression, war, torture, unlawful and inhumane conditions. We stand in solidarity with the women of Iran, of Palestine, of Sudan. We stand in solidarity with the women being arrested for accessing terminations or being refused lifesaving healthcare. We stand with the dolls.

Not only do we stand in solidarity with women. We rage with you, we have compassion for you, we are hopeful for you.

Last year, we saw that women in Nottingham city were being let down by services. Often women are left behind or forgotten about because they are conditioned to be resilient and persevere through tough times. We don’t accept this. We want women to know that it’s okay to be soft, to access support and for this support to be as accessible as possible.

This is where The Access Project was born. We will continue to try and make services as accessible and safe go women as possible. And we will continue to advocate for the women whose voices aren’t heard.

Please see this article written about the work we’ve done so far.

We’d like to thank all the people who have helped the women through our project, especially the women from the Nottingham Integrated Sexual Health Services and Nottingham Recovery Network. This partnership has revolutionised the way we engage with women.

The Access Project offers vital sexual health, contraception and harm‑reduction support for vulnerable women in Nottingham

We had a blast at the Rainbow Heritage LGBT Awards last night.

Each year we attend, we get to catch up with old friends and make even more new ones.

We’ve are so proud to have been a part of the Nottingham LGBTQ+ scene for decades and it’s always lovely to hear people talk about our services; old or new.

The awards is an annual reminder of how far we’ve come and how much is still left to do. Thank you for having us, as always.
