We are looking for a committed individual with financial skills and experience to join the Ann Craft Trust Board as a Trustee and Company Director.

Working alongside our Board of Trustees, you will bring financial insight and expertise to help guide the Ann Craft Trust, support good governance and contribute to the delivery of our strategic plan and vision.

In-depth knowledge of safeguarding adults is not essential. We are particularly keen to hear from people who can bring strong financial knowledge, skills and experience to the Board, helping us maintain effective financial oversight and make informed decisions about the future of the charity.

Alongside your financial expertise, you will bring sound judgement, a commitment to good governance and a willingness to learn. You will share our values and recognise the importance of creating a positive and supportive organisational culture.

The Power of the Pen, a new episode of our Safeguarding Matters podcast, is now live.

In part two of a two part podcast series, Dr Rachael Clawson, Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham, talks to Nadia about her experiences of transnational marriage abandonment (TMA).

One of Nadia’s relatives was the victim of TMA. This is a form of domestic abuse in which a spouse is intentionally left stranded in a foreign country. Once stranded, the abandoned spouse will usually have no paperwork, no resources, and no means of getting home.

In part two of this series, Nadia discusses the numerous individuals and organisations who supported her relative throughout her TMA experience - including Southall Black Sisters, Muslim Women's Network UK, and Karma Nirvana. She also outlines some measures that could help prevent future instances of TMA.
