💫 Rachel Hunter ~
Obstacles, patterns — maybe they move in cycles. For me, when the mind can feel like it reaches a hardened place rigid fear, frustration, wanting to control the outcome, wanting attention, validation, to be noticed, to be the “important” one, the “favourite.”

These recurring patterns, emotions and triggers are opportunities for me — although they rarely feel like opportunities in the moment. In the moment, they can feel more like: I want to be right.

But then there is this gap.

A moment where something settles, and you realise: why am I handing my emotions over to external validation?

What if I stayed in that gap?

What if I allowed myself to feel free — to remember that this life is yours, that you are all of it, and that you do not need that validation?

When you truly feel this, perhaps this is freedom.

We can hear these teachings. We can understand the knowledge. We may even know it intellectually. But for me, the question is: have I actually lived inside that gap long enough to allow it to be filled with all of my own energy?

To me, that can only empower the self and those around us, while beginning to release some of the heavy chains we may be carrying from the past — perhaps even through our ancestry.

"The object isn't to make art, it's to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable." ~ Robert Henri

Henri was an American artist and teacher, and the quote comes from his 1923 book, The Art Spirit.
Just reading the words of his quote and book title sings to and nourishes my soul.

To me Henri's words mean that creativity is far from being strategic - an objective, goal or aim. Rather it is an organic phenomenon that manifests out of our momentary experiencing of our journeying through this forever changing life.

For many objectivity takes the lead over open wonderment - a far from wonderful state.
Also, for those for whom it is 💫, it's important to note that the wonderful state is naturally occasional - one that we dip in and out of... it's all about balance.

That said, when it does happen and I am a in a state of contented presence, alive with a joy and openness that sings to my own soul, amazing things do happen.
And that is when our enlightening creativity, in whatever form that takes becomes inevitable.

Here's to our wonderfully inevitable and enlightening creativity... in all its forms!

The older I get, the deeper, more meaningful my feelings become.
Letting go to nature, being connected, being our unique interconnectedness has to be the way to go 💫
I looked over to Mount Karioi this morning with heartfelt, soulful respect... a sleeping princess.
Another time, not long past I would have visited with the intention of a hike!
I wasn't alone...
just one of the many who too had grown with her presence

Ideals... sooooo not possible.

We make too much of the inspirations and aspirations of life,
turning the simplest, purest of life's energies to politics, divisions, conflicts and wars.

Their purity of energy gets swallowed up,
fueling our ideals,
yet they are the most subtle, gentlest... refined;
a soupcon of gorgeousness; the sparkles,
nourishing our souls.

So subtle, yet infinitely sublime.
Refined and beautifully defined...
the purity of a babe's chuckle,
adrift on a summer breeze...

Politics, divisions, conflicts and war
live inside, 'play' outside...
they are easy to spot.
Yet so many get caught up in the, what?
Excitement? Hope? Affirmation? Power?

Alive in our bodies, minds, spirits and souls,
giving rise to fears, insecurities, anxieties,
misdirections, distractions in
actions, reactions.
Activities, behaviours.

There is no great secret to untangling these conflicts...
to freeing our ideals for the beauty they bring.

All we do is opt in.

So I've been incorporating healthier, keeping fitter activities for quite a while now, and today I went for a more tailored approach - I'm short-waisted, long-armed and long-legged, and wanted to refine my routines. So I asked AI.
What followed turned out to be far more interesting and enlightening than I could have imagined - nice!
Now, whilst I would recommend using the AI tool in this way, just a word of caution...

AI's initial suggestion was one that assumed I was looking to improve my appearance. Can you believe for an hourglass silloutte!
Talk about making a straw into an hourglass - beyond Blue Peter that one!
And anyway, just what century is AI living in!

Needless to say, I swiftly put it on the right track, and it yielded some seriously useful results. Then I became curious and asked,

'How would you compare the differences between the 2 different approaches to fitness routines: the first, more for physical appearance, and the second, more for sustainable, life-long fitness, health, wellbeing and life quality?'

The comparison between the 2 is quite astounding.
In a nutshell, had I gone with its first suggestion, I'd be doing myself more harm than good!

In summary:

Aesthetic-Driven Approach:
Primary Driver - How the body looks to others.
Exercise Type Isolated, heavy, repetitive.
Short Waist Impact - Tries to visually elongate via muscle illusion.
Long Limb Impact - Strains long levers to maximize muscle tear.
Time Horizon - Short-to-medium term (months/years).

Longevity-Driven Approach:
Primary Driver - How the body feels to you.
Exercise Type - Integrated, fluid, varied.
Short Waist Impact - Physically decompresses via breath and posture.
Long Limb Impact - Strengthens joint stabilizers to handle leverage.
Time Horizon - Lifelong (decades).

I'm interested, which option would you choose... and why?
