It's a sad post today 😭

If you know anything about Headway Nottingham, you likely know how important our Creative Writing workshops are for our clients.

Over the last few years, the sessions have been inspiringly, compassionately and joyfully led by the astonishingly fabulous Bridie Squires.

Since her time with us, Bridie has been the catalyst for achievement, confidence-building, incredible written creations and public performances. Her support of the guys has been second to none and we'll miss her like crazy!

Huge thanks to the very wonderful Bridie Squires for sharing her talents and creativity, as well as her encouragement and generosity of spirit. We all wish you the best of luck for the future, Bridie! COME BACK AND SEE US!

However, Creative Writing waits for no man (or indeed anyone else), and our Tuesday morning sessions will continue ably with the support and guidance of the very wonderful Sarah Wheatley. Can't wait to see you again, Sarah!

ADVANCE WARNING OF ROAD CLOSURE

HEADWAY NOTTINGHAM WILL REMAIN OPEN

We have been made aware that from Tuesday 26th May 2026, for three days, Bagnall Road will be closed between the Cinderhill mini roundabout and Neston Drive (Headstocks pub end of Bagnall Road).

This means there will be no access to Headway Nottingham from the Cinderhill Road at all over these three days.

If you rely on the 70B bus that stops outside the centre, this may not be in operation, so please do take some time to plan a different route for these three days. If you need a hand with this, just let us know and we'll hatch a plan together.

We'll keep you updated with any additional information as soon as we have it.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning at our Ruddington networking event! 🎉

We have been proud to bring together the business community in support of Headway Nottingham throughout May, raising awareness for Headway's vital work helping those who have been affected by brain injury.

🎩 Today also marks Hats for Headway Day and it has been great to see so many people getting involved and showing their support. Thank you again for being part of it! We look forward to seeing you at our next networking event.

Strength. Dexterity. Focus. Patience. Fun.

Pottery isn't just a creative outlet. At Headway Nottingham it's brain injury rehabilitation in disguise (sometimes stealth is best).

Every Tuesday afternoon, with the invaluable support of the wonderful Elaine and Grace from Hands on Pottery, our cohort is redeveloping skills after brain injury, and the results speak for themselves. The work our group produces is genuinely impressive, with beautiful pieces made by incredible people.

And the atmosphere around the table? Supportive, warm, and full of good chatter. Exactly how long-term rehabilitation should feel.

This year, Headway Nottingham turns 30! It's a milestone that means a great deal to everyone connected with our charity.

Three decades of supporting Nottingham's brain injury community is no small feat. As a small, independent local charity, we've navigated funding pressures, the loss of safety nets for our clients, and countless challenges, but through it all, our mission has remained the same: to provide support, rehabilitation and friendship opportunities that inspire hope and aspiration.

This milestone deserves to be marked properly, and we're so grateful that Sidedoor Studio has redesigned our logo especially for our 30th birthday! Their talent, generosity, and understanding of what Headway Nottingham stands for shines through in the result.

We're looking forward to celebrating in style later this year, with more details to come. For now, thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey: our members, volunteers, staff, supporters, and partners. Thirty years strong, and the best is still ahead.
