📚 The "Book" Club: August sessions cancelled! 📚

Hi everyone!

Unfortunately, we need to cancel both our online and in-person "Book" club sessions this month due to unforeseen circumstances.

We’re sorry to anyone who was planning to join us, but we need to give ourselves a little time to recover!

The "Book" Club will be back from October, after a quick September break, and are looking forward to seeing you all again then. 💜

Thank you for understanding, and take care of yourselves!

🎲 Roll for Inclusion is back this summer!!

We are opening four small online groups for neurodivergent young people aged 15+.

- Recognise the skills they already have

🎙️ We let Marilla near a microphone again.

Our founder Marilla has recorded an episode with Darren Jamieson for The Engaging Marketeer Podcast, and honestly?

It was exactly the kind of conversation we love.

Neurodiversity at work.
Performative inclusion.
Policies that look great but change nothing.
Businesses saying the right words while keeping the same broken systems.

And yes… apparently, at one point, a loaded paintball gun was suggested as a workplace inclusion intervention.

We would like to formally state that this was discussed in the context of performative inclusion...Probably. 😆

Jokes aside, this was a brilliant opportunity to talk about why neuroinclusion has to move beyond awareness and into actual practice.

Because inclusion is not just a paragraph on your website.
It is not just a webinar.

It is not just saying “we welcome neurodivergent people” while keeping the same confusing, exhausting, inaccessible systems.
It is how organisations communicate, recruit, manage, support and retain people.

Huge thank you to Darren for inviting Marilla on and creating such a fun, honest and properly useful conversation.

We’ll share the episode when it goes live later this year. In the meantime, go and listen to The Engaging Marketeer: it’s interesting, informative, fun, and Darren is a fantastic host.

This weekend we took part in the Arnold Summer Fair for our very first fundraising event... and what a fantastic day it was! 💜

We had an amazing time meeting so many wonderful people, chatting about what we do, rolling dice, giving out prizes, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, played our games, made a donation, or simply came over to say hello. Your support means the world to us.

Every penny we raised will go straight back into our community programmes, helping us continue to create neuroinclusive opportunities, support, and spaces for the people we serve.

This post also marks the official launch of our Instagram page! 🎉

We've been a little quiet while building Work'n'Diversity behind the scenes, but we're excited to start sharing more of our journey, projects, events and opportunities with you.

Thank you for being part of the start of this next chapter. We can't wait to see you at many more community events in the future!

📚💜 Nottingham Neurodivergent Book Club: Free, Friendly & Very Relaxed 💜📚

Hi everyone! I’m Marilla from Work’n’Diversity CIC a small Nottingham-based social enterprise led by neurodivergent folks, creating gentle, accessible spaces for connection, learning, and community.

We’re restarting our Read’n’Discovery Neurodivergent Book Club, and we’d love to welcome you along!

✨ Wednesday 26 November
✨ 11:00–12:00
✨ Nottingham Central Library
✨ FREE (yes, totally free!)
✨ We bring Tea, snacks, toys
✨ Sensory toys, stims & crafts are all welcome

This book club is for anyone who’s feeling a bit lost after a diagnosis or self-identification, or who just wants a calm social space with other neurodivergent people.

You don’t need to read the whole book, or even read at all if you don’t want to. Just come as you are.

The session is:
🌟 Relaxed
🌟 Accessible
🌟 Drop-in friendly
🌟 Facilitated by an autistic psychologist (me!)
🌟 No pressure, no expectations, just community

If you’d like to join us, here’s the event link with more info and free tickets:

We’re trying to get this little club off the ground again, so shares are very appreciated 💜
Hope to see some of you there!

(We are small but mighty! And have an ever-growing community offer that will get even bigger in the new year, so, if you want, give us a follow to stay in the loop!)

Buy tickets and see event information for Read’n’Discovery Neurodivergent Book Club.

Disability History Month is almost here. And we’re asking a simple question:

👉 Are your workplaces designed for every brain?

At Work’n’Diversity, we work with organisations to understand and remove the invisible barriers that many neurodivergent people face long before performance reviews or grievances ever happen.

We deliver fully tailored support, including:

🎯 Awareness & culture talks
Make inclusion clear, confident, and actionable.

🎓 Training for leaders & teams
Practical communication, adjustments, and collaboration skills built around your context.

🤝 Employee support
1:1 or group confidence-building for neurodivergent staff.

🎲 Roll for Inclusion
A playful, scenario-based learning experience where teams feel the impact of inclusion in action.

✔ Tailored to your organisation
✔ Evidence-led & action-focused
✔ Designed with neurodivergent minds, not for them

This isn’t awareness for the sake of awareness: it’s the start of a culture shift.
