💜🌿 A little bag of lavender, a lifetime of memories! 🌿💜

Our top floor was smelling beautiful as we brought out our lavender and got creative making our very own lavender bags! ☕🪻 With a lovely cup of tea or coffee in hand, our residents filled and organised their bags, creating a treasured keepsake to enjoy the calming scent of lavender.

Many of our residents shared memories of growing lavender in their own gardens, with the familiar fragrance bringing back special moments from years gone by. 💜

A simple sensory activity filled with meaningful conversations, reminiscence and the comforting power of familiar scents. 🌿✨

We enjoyed a wonderful trip to our local community centre to join Trial Makers this morning! 💛
Our residents got creative making sensory sticks for the children to dance around with, as well as helping prepare pumpkins for our upcoming pumpkin carving! 🎃

It was a lovely opportunity to get out and about, connect with our local community, enjoy some fresh air and share smiles, laughter and meaningful moments together. 🧡

Our residents enjoyed browsing through a beautiful selection of jewellery that was kindly donated to us. 💍❤️

It was a lovely opportunity to chat, reminisce about favourite styles, make personal choices and express their individuality. Sheila especially loved taking her time looking through the pieces and choosing some beautiful new jewellery for herself! 🥰✨

Activities like this encourage independence, choice and self-expression, while creating a lovely social moment for our residents to enjoy together.

💈 BARBER DAY AT BEESTON RISE! ✂️💈

Today we welcomed our dementia-friendly barber, Callum, who gave Stephen and our residents some well-deserved 1:1 pamper time!

Residents can choose what they’d like, whether it’s a Hair Trim, Beard Trim, Eyebrow Trim — all in a calm, relaxed and friendly environment.

With music playing, a friendly chat and plenty of smiles, it’s all about making each resident feel comfortable, confident and looking their best!

Fresh trims. Big smiles. Happy residents. ✂️❤️

We’re getting ready for a very special day here at Beeston Rise Care Home as we come together to celebrate all the wonderful progress, achievements and memories we’ve made as a home. 💙

Our Achievements Party will be filled with food, drinks, music, laughter and plenty of celebrating! 🥳🎶🍰

It’s a chance for our residents, relatives, staff and friends of Beeston Rise to come together and recognise everything we’ve achieved as a home and as a community. From trying new things and reaching personal goals, to creating special memories and bringing people together — every achievement deserves to be celebrated! 🌟

Getting Creative with Play-Doh at Beeston Rise! 🎨

This afternoon we got stuck into some Play-Doh fun, using pictures from the internet for inspiration and challenging ourselves to mould and create our very own animals!🐔🐷

From choosing the colours to shaping all the little details, everyone had the freedom to get creative and put their own spin on their creations.

Activities like this are a great way to support fine motor skills, hand strength, hand-eye coordination and concentration, while also encouraging creativity, imagination and self-expression. The different textures of the Play-Doh also provide lovely sensory stimulation and can be a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

☕️💙 Lots happening at Beeston Rise! 💙☕️

We’ve got some lovely weekly community events we want you to be apart of, including our Community Coffee Mornings every Friday morning and our Blue Light Breakfast every Tuesday morning ! 🧁🎲🎶

We love opening our doors and bringing our residents, families, friends and local community together for good food, great company, plenty of laughter and lots of memories made along the way. ❤️

Everyone is welcome, so come along, grab a cuppa and join in the fun! 🥰

🎨 A Little Afternoon of Creativity at Beeston Rise! 🖌️❤️

This afternoon, we got creative with some free-choice painting! We gave our residents a blank canvas and, instead of giving them a set picture to follow, we let their imaginations take over. ✨

And what a talented bunch we have! We had beautiful gardens, cosy houses, peaceful lakes and so much more, every canvas was completely unique and personal to the person who created it. 🏡🌳🌊

Painting is a wonderful way to encourage creativity, self-expression and independence, while also supporting hand-eye coordination, concentration and fine motor skills. It can also be a lovely opportunity to relax, reminisce and express memories or ideas through colour and pictures. 🥰

Most importantly, there were no rules and no right or wrong answers just a blank canvas and the freedom to create whatever they wished. ❤️

This was very special activity to some of our residents who used to paint all day long. These residents loved being able to get back to what they used to do. 🎨✨
