🎸 TimesTable Rockstars – Friday 19th June 🎸
On Friday 19th June, we’ll be celebrating Times Tables Rockstars, and we’d love children (and staff!) to dress up as rockstars and join in the number fun 🤘✨
This is a whole-school celebration of number, designed for all children — from our 2-year-olds, who are beginning to recognise number and quantity, right through to Key Stage 2, where children are expected to have secured all times tables by the end of Year 4 ⭐️
The day also marks the end of the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) and highlights just how important regular counting and practice are in helping children become confident mathematicians.
Learning number facts is a bit like learning the lyrics to a favourite song 🎶 — the more children practise, the more automatic it becomes. When number facts are secure, children can focus on problem-solving, reasoning and enjoying maths, rather than stopping to work out basic calculations.
In the lead-up to the big day, we will be sharing a fun countdown across our school social platforms — counting in 1s through to 12s — with songs, games, strategies and challenges that children and families can join in with at home 🧠
