💅🏼A quick note about TPO seen as it has hit the headlines again…

TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide) is an ingredient that was used in some gel products to help them cure under UV/LED light. It has been classified as a reproductive toxin and is now prohibited in cosmetic products in Great Britain.

Importantly, the amount used in nail products was over 1,000 times lower than the amount associated with the fertility effects in toxicology studies, and nail products are applied to the nail rather than ingested, so actual exposure would be considerably lower.

For your reassurance, I would like to let you know that my gel polishes are completely TPO-free, so you have zero TPO exposure from the products I use. ❤️

At around 7pm last night, phones across England and Wales received a Government emergency alert warning of the serious risk of wildfires during the extreme heat.

There was very little public warning that this alert was coming.

And there is another safety issue we need to talk about.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse and have a secret or emergency phone hidden from your partner, tonight’s alert may have caused that phone to make a loud noise or vibrate — even if you normally keep it on silent.

If that has happened to you, or you are worried that your phone has been discovered, please prioritise your immediate safety.

If you are in immediate danger, call 999.

If you cannot speak when you call 999 from a mobile, listen to the operator and, when prompted, press 55 so they know it is a genuine emergency.

If you have a concealed phone, the Government specifically acknowledges this risk and provides instructions for switching emergency alerts off:

iPhone:
Settings → Notifications → scroll to the bottom → switch off Severe Alerts and Extreme Alerts.

Android:
Search Settings for “Emergency Alerts” → switch off Severe Alerts and Extreme Alerts.

Please only make changes to a device when it is safe for you to do so.
