‼️Baby loss ‼️

I never forget how lucky I am to do my job and what a privilege it is to have clients trust me with their bodies and that of their baby.

Today this bed, this room and I supported a very special lady. One who wanted to treat herself in her last week of pregnancy before having to make a very painful and difficult decision at 24 weeks.

I felt honoured to be able to offer the opportunity to spend this time finding time for her and to offer her that time to treat herself and her baby.

Every woman who enters my room is important to me, as is every pregnancy, every pregnancy loss, every painful decision that has to be made about the many issues in life we can face.

Coming to see me isn’t just about coming to have a massage to get rid of aches and pains. I will give you the time you need to process feelings, talk things through and cry if that’s what’s needed. No judgement from me at all.

This is the safe space where you will be held ❤️

✨ Price Update ✨

From 1st June, I’ll be making a small adjustment to my treatment prices.

This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s necessary to ensure I can continue offering high quality treatments while keeping my business sustainable long-term.

I’ve worked hard to keep the increase as low as possible so that treatments remain affordable and accessible, while still allowing me to cover rising costs and continue investing in my skills and services for you.

All appointments already booked from June onwards will be at today’s prices.

Thank you so much for your continued support - it honestly means a lot 💜

A little explanation to why life has been so unsettled over the last 8 weeks! I’ve had to rearrange a few appointments and rearrange course dates and you have all been so patient with me so thank you 🙏

As many of you know I am keen on the 1st of the month to do breast checks and checks of your body. As I say “know your normal” and get anything new checked out.

About 8 weeks ago I just felt my left breast was different. It felt different but I couldn’t feel anything. No lump to feel. I have a history of having cysts but this was different.

The GP could find nothing also so although I was referred to the breast clinic for further investigations I didn’t follow the cancer path as I didn’t tick the ‘found a lump’ box.

5 weeks later I got my appointment and had a mammogram then had to wait for an ultrasound too. I know this procedure well from the past. But this time it ran over in time so my 2 hour parking ticket ran out and I was going to run late for a client at work.

I explained and left but received a call on the way back that they had found 2 areas of concern in the left breast and I needed biopsies done.

Now I was out of the system it took another 2 weeks to get that appointment after lots of ringing up, leaving messages and involving PALS who were brilliant.

I returned a couple of weeks ago and had more mammograms and 2 biopsies.

I received the news on Friday that both biopsies are benign. I’m one of the lucky ones.

It’s been a worrying and prolonged stressful time but it makes you realise how knowing your body and checking these things are important. Plus how amazing are our NHS to be able to help us?

I won’t stop reminding you on the 1st of every month in my stories to check. Know your normal and go with your gut instinct. We have one body…treat it as you would your most precious belonging as that’s what it is 🥰

S L E E P does anyone get enough 😴?

Do you struggle to go to sleep, or wake up several times in the night or just wake up really early and can’t go back to sleep?

If we aren’t getting enough sleep it can make the next day feel long and awful. It will send your eating patterns into havoc and play around with your hormones making you eat more and crave the wrong food.

The brilliant thing is we are able to help ourselves by making small changes. Here are 7 changes you can make which may help:

1. Embrace the Morning light - Get outside first thing in the morning and get some natural light. Grab a cuppa and a fleece if necessary and sit outside for 20 minutes. Or try a sitting next to a window to get as much natural light as possible.

2. Keep caffeine before noon - it can take up to 6 hours for caffeine to leave the body, so anything after noon could well be disturbing you.

3. Try and eat before 7pm - Give your body time to digest your food before going to bed rather then allowing this to disturb you in the night.

4. De clutter your brain - we all know going to bed with a full brain is going to make us struggle. Find ways to de clutter by keeping a pad and pen by your bed or allowing yourself some ‘quiet’ time before bed to switch off.

5. Create an environment of darkness - Keep your room as dark as you can, even from street lights. Unplug all devices so you are not disturbed by any lights at all.

6. Create a bedtime routine - Prepare yourself for bed as we would with children. Maybe have a bath, a hot drink, sit in a dimly lit room, listen to a meditation but actually prepare yourself for sleep.

7. Exercise in the morning not at night - Exercise can raise cortisol levels at a time they should be lowering.

Start small….introducing maybe three changes. Allow yourself some time for those to become a habit before introducing some more.

I’m often told coming into my space is like being hugged and I love that ❣️

I will always ask you how you are and want your true response so I can cater your session exactly for your needs on that day.

Coming to see me is more than just a massage or a class or a workshop. I pride myself in offering my clients a wrap around care to really cater for their needs.

MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH -

This is something very close to my heart as many of you know. Part of my ‘why’ with my business is to help all women but especially any feeling vulnerable in any way.

1. Setting boundaries for you and for others. Know your worth and know your triggers. Your ‘plate’ can only get so full so only allow to take on what you feasibly can and learn to say “no” when you have to.

2. Connect with Nature and feel the strength you will receive from Mother Earth. Walk barefoot, feel the ground on your feet and absorb the energy. Find some space with running water and allow yourself to sit and listen and let go of anything not serving you well.

3. This may not be easy….but use your little ones nap time to rest yourself. Don’t be tempted to do jobs as they can all wait. If your little one struggles to nap, call on family and friends to take it in turns to walk the baby for you to give you some time.

4. Connect with your ‘tribe’ join groups where you can meet other mums going through the same stage. Share this challenging time as no one will be finding it a breeze.

5. Stay as active as you can by getting outside in nature and walking. Staying active will release endorphins to help boost your system.

6. Express your feelings to those close to you. Reach out to others and be honest about how you are feeling. There is no shame in admitting you’re struggling or things aren’t going to plan. By being honest others will be aware and can help.

7. Practising self reflection allows you to sometimes analyse why you are feeling a certain way. “What gives you joy?” “What makes you happy?”

8. Finding time for you is one of the most important things to do. Your life has changed and sometimes you lose yourself a little and struggle to know who you are now. Finding time for you allows you to find yourself a little. Allows you to make you a priority and really know your worth.

I and many others run afternoon and day retreats specifically to help women in this and other stages. Please find the time to find time for you, make you a priority and get back your JOY of life ❣️

I’m asked this question a lot, so thought I would make it a little clearer.

My absolute love is working with women who may be going through either:

• discomfort
• pain
• a need to find some quiet time for them
• questions about the stage of life they are in
• wanting to understand their body more
• prioritising themselves ❣️

My life journey has equipped me with experience and I’ve attended so many courses that my ‘toolbox’ to support you is a large one! Even now I never stop learning and wanting to know more to be able to help my clients.

So yes I don’t just treat pregnant and postnatal women! I love to work with women who want to help themselves and make some changes. This is my goal ☺️
