🍂 IT’S ONLY THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER… AND I’M ALREADY SEEING A PATTERN!
Over the past week I’ve seen a noticeable influx of clients coming into the salt rooms with lingering coughs, congestion, sinus problems and viral-type respiratory symptoms.
Some have been struggling for 6 weeks or more, and several tell me they’ve already had 1, 2 or even 3 courses of antibiotics with little or no improvement.
When I ask when it all started, there’s another pattern cropping up…
✈️ “It started after I came home from holiday.”
🏨 “I got sick while I was away.”
🚢 “I came off the cruise with a cough.”
Planes, cruise ships and busy hotels mean lots of people sharing enclosed spaces, while air conditioning can leave the nose and throat feeling dry and irritated. And of course, antibiotics don’t treat viral infections, which may help explain why some people haven’t seen the improvement they expected.
🧂 This is where salt therapy may be worth considering.
Dry salt therapy can help support the airways by helping to loosen and thin mucus, ease congestion and support mucus clearance, which can be particularly welcome when you’re left with that stubborn cough or “bunged up” feeling long after the initial illness.
NB: And one thing I say every autumn…
Don’t! wait until that cough has been hanging around for 6 weeks before you do something about it.
If you’re starting to feel that familiar tickly throat, congestion or cough creeping in, it may be time to get yourself into the salt room. 💜
