One of the big challenges with designing a new smile is getting a big natural before smile photo! Often people have programmed themselves to hide their smile, cover their mouth with a hand, turn away just to not let people see their teeth. The embarrassment that people endure is real.
But this is the start of a new smile design. We get our lab to use the full face photo to help design the new teeth. The face and the lips are the frame for the teeth.
The alternative…. Teeth which look too big, don’t curve correctly, are not level, are crooked, or any variety of other problems.
Once we design the smile we try them in for a real preview which the patient can then approve. This way we know the patient will be happy.
