Home Instead - West Lancashire and Chorley

Home Instead - West Lancashire and Chorley An 'Outstanding' rated local care provider, with a range of diverse care services available.

A local service for adults and older people, Home Instead is a non-medical provider of specialist services; complex care needs, respite care, continuing healthcare services, specialist dementia care, rapid response services, case management services, companionship, meal preparation, light housework, medication reminders, errands, local transportation and personal care. Based on our tailored person

centred care plan, our Care Professionals encourage, assist, and stimulate clients in a variety of daily activities that help improve their quality of life and help maintain their independence. All of these services assist clients to stay comfortable at home for a longer period of time. The clear Home Instead focus is on providing a high quality care service that is person centred and meets the client’s actual needs, rather than the historical and outdated model of a "task driven and time restricted" service. This refreshing approach to providing high quality care in the local community is reflected throughout everything we do and our most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) un-announced inspection report, contains independent and unsolicited feedback and details on what our clients actually feel and think about our care services, Care Pros and staff. From the inspection carried out by the CQC, our services have been rated 'Outstanding' which we are very proud of and continue to thrive and achieve such accolades by effectively providing the mast amazing care our Care Pros deliver on a daily basis. We make sure our Care Pros and Clients are well matched to ensure the best service and with our minimum one-hour care calls, relationships will be made that is a connection in friendship rather than just Client and care provider.

⏰💚 100% on time throughout August.

We’re incredibly proud to share that 100% of our care calls were delivered on time during August 2026 at Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley.

Behind that percentage are real people. Someone expecting support with their morning routine. A family member relying on us to arrive when agreed. A Client waiting for companionship, help with a meal or support to continue their day. That’s why being on time matters.

Reliable home care is about more than keeping to a schedule. It’s about building trust, maintaining familiar routines and giving our amazing Clients and their loved ones confidence in the support they receive.

A huge thank you to our Care Professionals and wider team, whose planning, communication and commitment helped us achieve a fantastic 100% on-time performance throughout August 👏

A result to be very proud of 💚

💚 September marks World Alzheimer’s Month, and this year’s message is an important one.

"The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do. A Diagnosis Matters."

For many families, noticing changes in someone they love can bring a lot of uncertainty.

Is it normal forgetfulness? Should we be concerned? Who should we speak to? What happens if it is Dementia?

Seeking professional advice can help families understand what may be happening, access appropriate support and begin making informed decisions about the future.

At Home Instead - West Lancashire and Chorley, we support people living with Dementia and the families around them, helping individuals continue living in familiar surroundings with care shaped around their own routines, preferences and needs.

Throughout September, we’ll be sharing practical Dementia information, answering common questions and highlighting useful sources of support.

If you’re worried about changes in someone’s memory or behaviour, your GP is an important first point of contact.

You don’t have to have everything worked out before asking for help 💚

Are you spending time with an older loved one this Bank Holiday?

We hope you have a lovely time together 💚

Long weekends and family visits can also mean spending a little more time together than usual. Sometimes, that's when we notice small things that we hadn't spotted before.

Perhaps:
• Mum doesn't seem to be eating as regularly
• Dad isn't getting out as often as he used to
• The house is becoming harder to manage
• Everyday routines seem to require more effort
• Someone who was previously very confident is asking for more reassurance

None of these things automatically mean somebody suddenly needs a large amount of care. But they might be worth talking about.

Sometimes a little regular support is enough to make everyday life easier while helping someone continue living independently and securely at home.

And you don't need to know exactly what support is required before asking for advice.

If this Bank Holiday leaves you with questions about someone you love, our local and friendly team is here to talk them through with you.

What can good Dementia care at home look like?

There isn't one answer, because no two people experience Dementia in exactly the same way.

But it can mean:
• Following someone's preferred pace
• Maintaining familiar routines where possible
• Communicating calmly and respectfully
• Allowing additional time rather than rushing
• Supporting hobbies and interests that remain meaningful
• Understanding someone's history and preferences
• Recognising the person behind the diagnosis

That's why getting to know somebody matters. Their favourite music. How they like their morning to begin. The stories they enjoy telling. The activities they've always loved. The things that make them feel comfortable.

Good Dementia support isn't simply about knowing somebody's diagnosis. It's about knowing them.

If you've noticed memory or behavioural changes in someone you love, these can have several possible causes and do not necessarily mean Dementia. A GP can advise on the appropriate next steps.

Have you ever thought about working in care but assumed you didn't have the right experience?

You may have more relevant experience than you realise.

Perhaps you've:
• Supported a family member
• Raised a family
• Worked closely with people
• Been the person others naturally turn to
• Developed patience through your own life experiences
• Simply always enjoyed helping others

Previous care experience isn't always essential to becoming a Care Professional with Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley.

What matters is having the right qualities, along with the willingness to learn. Award-winning training and ongoing support can help you develop the practical knowledge.

You bring the compassion, personality and life experience.

We’re delighted to recognise Anna as our July Star of the Month 💚🌟

Anna is someone who consistently goes the extra mile , not only for our amazing Clients, but for the wider team too.

She regularly steps in to help when extra support is needed and she brings the same thoughtfulness to the people she cares for. One lovely example is the way she buys flowers for her Clients simply to brighten their day 🌷

It’s those small, personal touches that can mean so much.

Anna’s kindness, reliability and willingness to support others are a wonderful reflection of the values we want to see across our team.

We’re very lucky to have you with us, Anna. Congratulations on being our Star of the Month 👏
