Fire Cupping 🔥

Cupping is an age-old technique used in traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate Acupuncture points or larger areas of the body and can be used to help tight muscles, where there is not sufficient circulation and pain. Physical.pain implies a blockage in the flow of blood and other vital substances through a particular area. When toxins or cell waste stagnate in the muscles or joints, it can be difficult for the body to get rid of this waste, causing further blockage and discomfort

By utilising cupping techniques we are able to pull the blockage out of the deeper tissue to the skins surface enabling the body to eliminate toxins and creating fresh new blood to those areas, revitalising and restoring proper blood flow.

What to expect when you come for treatment

The session will start by preparing the body for cupping by gentle tuina techniques in the back to loosen the fascia before moving on to moving cupping.
Moving cupping is especially good for pain as it helps to release fascia which can tighten up, causing muscle tightness, pain, adhesions or knots. It is also good for moving Qi and blood, and help nourish the body and stimulate organ function it also just feels good and can feel similar to a back massage
The cups will then be placed on and around certain areas of the back and left on for upto 20 minutes

Chrysanthemum tea ✨

The Chinese have used Chrysanthemum for years advocating its many health benefits ✨Current research appears to support some of the medicinal benefits of chrysanthemums. One study found that chemicals extracted from chrysanthemum flowers may help reduce inflammation. Chemical compounds in the flowers may also help prevent bone loss and treat osteoporosis, according to another study 💥

Chrysanthemums may have anti-obesity effects, too. A 2019 study found that taking chrysanthemum leaf ethanol extract helped prevent obesity in mice. Other research also indicates that components of the flower may help improve high blood sugar and possibly help prevent type 2 diabetes.
Still, many of the studies on chrysanthemum are done in a laboratory or in animals and Healthline suggest that more research is needed to evaluate its effects

Benefits of Chrysanthemum tea

✅can supplement skin irritation and chronic conditions such as eczema and psoriasis 💥
✅Maintains healthy immune function

Acupuncture a practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that works with the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Rather than focus on the symptoms, acupuncture works on strengthening the body’s internal systems so healing can occur more effectively and sustainably.

When the body is under stress, dealing with illness, or recovering from injury, its natural flow of energy and communication between systems can become disrupted. Through diagnosis which includes listening to the pulse, looking at the tongue, asking specific questions and looking at the emotions I can choose specific points on the body which gently help regulate these systems and encourage the body to return to a balanced state.

Here are some of the benefits personally reported from my patients other than what they have come for:

✅ Improved circulation
✅ reduced inflammation
✅ Reduced tension
✅ Reduced or no pain
✅ Improved digestion
✅ Improved sleep
✅ Improved energy
✅ Improved cognitive clarity
✅ feelings of calm
✅ clearer vision
✅ Better breathing
✅ clearer skin

Spring🌱🌿

Spring in Chinese medicine is the time when we move out of the darkness of winter (Yin time) and into the light (Yang) and it is associated with the Wood element which is all about encompassing a time for new growth, with hope and vision for the future.

The wood element whispers promises of growth and vitality and is associated with incredible strength, positive transformation, and challenges. Think of those tiny buds that force their way out, with even enough strength to break through concrete as they climb towards the light 🌱the element wood, symbolises creativity and adaptability.

It is a time of new beginnings and new challenges so if you are thinking about new projects or new beginnings then plant your seed today and trust the energy of spring to help it grow….. we can all be at one with nature 🌳🌱

After receiving acupuncture, it’s not uncommon to experience a temporary healing response as part of the body’s natural adjustment process. Here are some common reactions and their meanings in the context of Chinese medicine:

1.Soreness or Discomfort: Some people may feel localized soreness or a sensation similar to bruising at the needle sites. This can indicate that Qi has been stimulated and is flowing more freely, which can lead to healing.

2. Fatigue or Relaxation: You might feel unusually tired or relaxed after a session. This is often a sign that the body is shifting from a state of tension (excess Yang) to one of relaxation (balanced Yin), allowing for healing to take place.

3. Emotional Release: Acupuncture can sometimes trigger emotional responses, such as crying or a feeling of release. This can happen as the treatment helps to unblock emotional energy, facilitating healing on both physical and psychological levels.

4. Changes in Symptoms: Temporary exacerbation of symptoms might occur, which could be seen as the body’s way of processing deeper issues before they improve. For instance, if you’re receiving treatment for headaches, you might experience a brief increase in headache intensity before it starts to diminish.

5. Digestive Changes: Some individuals may notice shifts in digestion, such as increased bowel movements or changes in appetite. This can indicate that the treatment is helping to balance the digestive system and promote better assimilation of nutrients.

6. Improved Sleep: Many people report improved sleep quality following acupuncture, as it helps to regulate the nervous system and reduce stress levels.

These temporary healing responses are generally considered positive signs that the body is working to restore balance and health. 💥

Sleep 😴

Getting enough sleep 😴 is essential for helping us maintain optimal health and well-being. When it comes to your health, sleep is as vital as regular exercise and eating a balanced diet.

Sleep helps the body repair, regenerate, and recover and the immune system is no exception to this with some research showing how better sleep quality can help the body fight off infection.

There can be many reasons why people are struggling to get to sleep or stay asleep and it is through diagnosis that acupuncture can help treat the root cause aiding in a good nights sleep 🛌 💥

Are you struggling to get to sleep or stay asleep?

Forest Bathing 🌳

When you walk among trees, your breath slows, your shoulders drop, and your thoughts soften. The forest asks nothing of you, no productivity, no answers just presence. In that stillness, your nervous system resets and your mind remembers what calm feels like. Sometimes healing doesn’t come from doing more, but from standing still long enough to listen to the leaves.

Research shows that trees really do have healing powers. They release antimicrobial essential oils, called phytoncides, that protect trees from germs and have a host of health benefits for us little people. These and other impressive benefits of forest medicine are catalogued by physician Qing Li, chairman of the Japanese Society for Forest Medicine, in his book Forest Bathing and include

✔️reduced blood pressure
✔️reduced stress and anxiety
✔️improved sleep and creativity
✔️improved functioning of the mind
✔️clearer thinking

Black beans are a great tonic for kidneys and they have diuretic properties helping to resolve dampness and Water. They also nourish the blood and the Yin (replenishes and supports fluid loss) and are supported in their Damp resolving action by the celery which cools the system and removes Water (supports internal heat) . The seaweed nourishes the Blood and Yin as well as draining Water, the carrot compliments the Blood nourishing action of the beans, and the onion provides warmth and movement. “Recipes for self healing”
