Social media is sometimes a battleground of who’s the most popular. Every follower is a potential client.

But when an artists followers list is similar to the population count of a city it seems a bit disingenuous.

We’re all trying to be seen and make an earning but sometimes comparison can make you feel like you’re trailing behind. When in fact sometimes the numbers DO lie.

Your only comparison should be your previous self 👊🏻

Really fun one this.

This client came in with the concept of a “gods” black and grey realism sleeve. He already had Poseidon piece on the upper arm.

But with this he also wanted to secretly incorporate his wife in the piece.

So I pulled an image of hers from her page and edited some bits together.

Him and his wife were super pleased with the piece.

Ye a lot of artists love a cpl filter and a light (me included) to get rid of some of that redness and glare.

But I’m seeing more and more pieces that just aren’t honest images.

Although the work out there is at such a high level, even the best of the best are editing their work to none believable standards.

This makes room for clients to be misled and for artists to potentially feel they’re not doing enough.

With that said. Compare yourself to your previous self. No one else.

Over the years of my career I’ve had a huge amount of clients from military backgrounds.

Sitting with each one I’ve heard stories hard to comprehend.

The good stories the bad stories. All things I know I’m not man enough to face personally.

Although remembrance week is over 6 months away I’m putting this out early so it can reach who it needs to reach before my diary starts to fill up.

This year (per Google) Remembrance Sunday lands on Sunday the 8th of November.

So the week leading up to it 3rd to the 7th I’ll be offering out a discount on full days to anyone who has served for the country.

My day rate is £450 and will be discounted to £350 for this week for military. Otherwise you can still pay the full price and I’ll put the £100 difference into the poppy appeal

Can be whatever black and grey piece you like. Doesn’t have to be remembrance based.

An advert for it will be posted closer to the time as a reminder. But if you’re interested, save this post and tag a fellow military bother or sister that may be interested.
