K'lo Harris, Somatic Movement Educator & Shiatsu Therapist Welcome to my page. Movement and its relationship to mind, movement for pleasure, safe touch, embodied performance, embodied play, embodied dance…I could go on.

I am a Somatic Movement Educator (SME) trained with the School of Body Mind Centering (BMC), Shiatsu Practitioner (Dip Shi), Somatic Performer & Contact Improvisation Dance Facilitator. It seems my whole life has been guided by these principles, along the way exploring a variety of practices, a seeker. Constantly adding to a now bulging tool kit. Part of this practice, and a big part of my learnin

g is to share this collected store of juicy embodiment practice with all who find themselves on that path. I simply love this stuff! Facilitating or teaching for me is about sharing, it’s just plain greedy to keep it all to myself. I am a Somatic Movement Educator (SME) trained with the School of Body Mind Centering (BMC), Somatic Performer, Contact Improvisation Dance Facilitator, and Shiatsu Practitioner (Dip Shi). I have a creative Arts degree in Dance & Drama (BA Hons), and an MA in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) and more…

My relationship to my practice has sprung out of a need to heal from my own chaotic upbringing, a desire to not a let my unreliable body get the better of me. More recently I have come through a big healing crisis of a Cancer diagnosis and treatment. I have really had to delve into the tool kit to find my way back. I have never been more thankful for my toolkit.

It is often said that trees are the lungs of the earth. That patterns repeat themselves in nature. What sort of tree are your lungs?

Breath deeply into your bronchial tree, sending the life sustaining breath through its ever subdividing branches, notice how your breath is travelling, unrestricted? Restricted? More on the left, or the right? And just be with your breath, noticing, but no judgment.

Know that right at this point in time, that this is all there is. You and your breath. Give it some attention, it will help you get through so many things in life.

Imagine what sort of tree your breath is travelling through.

Would love to see some of your images.

I am next out and about for the CI 50th Anniversary celebrations in Bristol. Where I will be facilitating the opening class of the weekend on Friday night. Whoop! Whoop!
playful introduction to some good old fashioned principles of CI safety, to hopefully set us up for the weekend.
See you there!

We are like a vast ocean teaming with life, contained within the protective barrier of our skin. Communities of cells, working together, mostly in harmony, sometimes in dis-harmony, but always doing their best to keep the collective whole, (us) dancing through life in the external world.
We are in constant interaction with our external environment, information fed to us via our sense organs (ears, eyes, mouth, nose, touch, and proprioception), what we sense, affects how we feel (endocrine –chemical messenger system), affects how we move (both internally and externally), how we move feeds back into how we feel and sense.
‘Through this journey we are led to an understanding of how the mind is expressed through the body in movement’ (Bainbridge Coen, 1993).
This movement can be imperceptible, but it can also be large and wild like the oceans we are.
