I love learning about the science behind essential oil and how they can help with our moods and emotions
In summary:
Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Wild Orange, Lavender, Rose may reduce cortisol, the hormone produced when we are in a state of fear, and increase serotonin levels, which will increase the overall sense of wellbeing, including; improved digestion, sleep and bone density.
Cinnamon can help with the overall regulation of cell function so we are not over or under stimulated
Lemongrass and Bergamot can increase GABA which blocks certain nerve signals in the brain to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress.
Rosemary, Clary sage and Roman Chamomile can help improve cognitive thinking – memory
If I were to make up a massage oil or something for my diffuser I would use a combination of Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Wild Orange, Cinnamon, Lavender, Roman Chamomile and Rosemary. A lovely blend of calming flowers, uplifting cirtus and grounding wood oils. Possibly to keep it even more simple Frankinsence, Bergamot and Rosemary
