From a museum visit to 24 sessions in the chair, this sleeve is more than ink - it’s a full-on storybook of Neal’s life 🌸🐈☕

It all started when Neal visited the Ashmolean Museum and fell in love with Japanese block prints. We took that artistic spark and ran with it, creating a scene centred around Hanami, the traditional Japanese cherry blossom viewing festival. But every detail was tailored specifically to Neal:

🐾 The Stars: Marley, Mittens, and Buddy! All three of Neal’s actual cats make an appearance as whimsical caricatures, designed to capture their exact expressions and unique personalities from photos he sent over.

☕The Twist: To bridge his English roots with Japanese tradition, and because Neal is a teetotaller, we swapped the traditional Hanami sake for a very civilised tea party.

⚓ The Tribute: Shortly after we began, Neal’s father sadly passed away. To honour his memory as a passionate lifesaver and pipe smoker, we incorporated a tiny lifeboat into the design and gave Marley a pipe to smoke.

24 sessions, 2 years, and a few touch-ups later, this labor of love is complete.
