MAMA PLACENTA
In many traditions, the placenta is honoured.
It is seen as a teacher, a guardian, and a symbol of the deep intelligence of the body.
Some mothers choose to bury it in the earth, returning it to the soil.
Some dry and encapsulate it for postpartum support.
Some simply take a moment of gratitude, acknowledging its role in creating life.
There is no single right way:only reverence, choice, and respect.
As a postpartum doula, I witness how powerful it is when birth is met with meaning, physiologically, and reverence.
When we slow down enough to honour what has carried life, something shifts in the mother too.
Sacred beginnings deserve sacred endings🌺
