In short, YES, but why? 🤔
At this time of year a predictable thing happens on social media/online, one camp attacks the word ‘detox’ and anything to do with detox including detox diets, detox products etc. The other camp touts the benefits of detox and waxes lyrical on all the great things you can do to support detoxification.
I can safely say i’m in the second camp :). Come join us we’re a friendly bunch!
Although our bodies have incredibly sophisticated systems in place to ensure detoxification is taken care of (liver, kidneys, sweat etc), these systems were designed to deal with a very different world compared to the one we live in today.
Our water, air, food, cleaning products and cosmetics are all loaded with substances that burden the liver. Going on a detox is not replacing your body’s own ability to detox, it is simply lending a helping hand to enhance it 🌱
Whilst it’s true that there are lots of companies jumping on the detox bandwagon, selling dubious (and expensive products) that do little to nothing, a well put together detox can be a profound experience and a great reset or jump off point for making positive changes in your life.
Have you ever tried any kind of detox? I’d love to hear your experiences.
