Meet your Aesthetic Independent Nurse Prescriber 👩🏼‍⚕️

For those who don’t know me, my name is Karina and I’ve run Ocean Aesthetics Torbay for the last 8 years💁🏼‍♀️

I am an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist, Independent Nurse Prescriber and I work full time in the NHS, I’m currently half way through my Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice 👩🏼‍⚕️👩🏼‍🎓📚

Being Mum, Wife, Nurse and studying meant I needed to take a break for a couple of years to concentrate on my NHS career & family life, but now my kids are older and life (I would like to think🫣) is a bit more settled I can give some time back to what I love ❤️

I run my business from home in my private, purpose built clinic. Therefore all bookings are private, confidential and are on a 1:1 basis, by appointment only. There’s also plenty of free parking outside and on a main bus route.

Weekends are always jam packed, usually travelling for netball and swimming, walking the dog, enjoying food, or out with friends! I love to travel and explore new destinations ✈️🌍

My passion is skin health and anti-ageing and I have partnered with some amazing brands such as Alumier, SkinPen, DermaLux and Albus and Flora!
I will only work with brands that I truly trust and that will actually bring results! I won’t bring in a new treatment unless I’m 100% sure it’ll bring results and is ethical - im not into trends or fads!

This spring I will be adding dermal filler back to my treatment menu after I have completed a refresher course to update my skills and knowledge to ensure I’m up to date and safe to practice 💉💋

Why use an advanced skin scanner?

I love having a Skin scanner here in clinic! Not only is it able to tell us what’s going on at deeper levels of the skin and treating problems before they come to the surface but a great tool for tracking progress which isn’t always noticeable at first glance!

We’ve been working on ageing/UV sun damage and I think the results speak for themselves!

In just 7 weeks:
Spots: decreased ✅
Wrinkles: decreased✅
Pores: decreased✅
UV spots: decreased✅
Porphyrins: decreased✅
Sensitivity: increased❌ (this is expected as a chemical peel was carried out the day before plus we have added in the gorgeous new Alumier IntelliRET retinol which can cause some sensitivity)

Do you know your skin type? If you don’t, how do you know which products are right for you? I often have people say their products are not bringing them results....this is because they are the wrong products for your skin.

Alumier has a cleanser for all skin types! Every bespoke skincare regime I provide is completely tailor made to suit your individual skin concerns!

Cleansing is single handedly one of the most important stages in your skincare routine.

In the morning it will remove the build up of sebum, toxins, oils and dirt that the skin has excreted while you are asleep, along with any serums you’ve applied the previous night that are not recommended for daytime use (like retinol)!
