We are back! After having some time off due to my Mum passing away, we are set to return next week 🥳 The first group we will be running is Neuronest South West CIC’s Home Ed Club.

A low-demand social and educational home education group. Specifically designed for neurodivergent children and their families!

This is a plea for help…
Since my Mum suddenly passed away, 3 weeks ago, I haven’t been able to run groups at The Sunshine Hub like I had planned. This has obviously had a huge impact on my ability to pay the bills that are owed and I am worried that no matter how many groups I run, I am not going to be able to make enough to catch up. So I’m asking for donations.. I have a fundraising link, I would be so grateful for any donations or even just sharing this post. Again, thankyou for all the support recently, it’s really appreciated ❤️

This week has been an awful rollercoaster of emotions. From having our happy little launch party to watching my Mum pass away, I think I have experienced every emotion possible in such a short timeframe.
Anyway, I have been doing a lot of thinking about what this means for The Sunshine Hub. I have considered closing, unsure if I can face this project without her. This was always something that myself and Mum wanted to set up, we saw the need for a local support hub and set about creating one. But I cannot give up on our dream, Mum would be devastated if I closed before even properly opening.
So I am going to try my hardest to still make this happen. It’s not going to be easy and I’m going to need a lot of support but I have been inundated with people who want to help.

Let’s get The Sunshine Hub up and running properly and make a lasting legacy for my beautiful Mum 🌈☀️

The Sunshine Hub’s soft launch was a success! ☀️ We decided to run a quiet open session today just for the home educated families who attend the weekly group with Neuronest South West CIC. These were just a few of the beautiful works of art that were created at today’s session, they are already on display in our hallway 💛

We will be running a larger opening event soon!

We need your help!
We are reaching out to you lovely people to help develop The Sunshine Hub. We are fundraising to help with the cost of adapting the hub to make it as accessible as it can possibly be. It will likely never be fully wheelchair accessible as it is a first floor space but we hope to make it more accessible to those with reduced mobility. We will need to install a stair lift and make some adaptations to the toilet. We are also hoping to install a new oven to allow us to run cookery classes for young people, particularly those who are home educated who don’t have access to the usual food tech lessons in schools. Any additional funds raised will help us to run our sessions at a low cost for the families we support ❤️ Thankyou for reading!

I have been sent an email with some FREE Easter Holiday activities for SEND children and families (no diagnoses required)
I’ve listed the details below 🥰 Links to book are in the comments 👇🏻

⭐️Dartmoor activity Centre - Haytor 4th April – Easter Saturday
This is a family day split in to two sessions to keep the numbers spread across the day
Activities include-
*Bushcraft fire lighting,
*Shelter Building,
*Tyrolean Traverse,
*Archery

⭐️Dartmoor outdoor learning team – Basecamp days spread across the easter holidays at Pixies holt.
These are drop off and pickup days – key requirement being the child is okay in small groups (4 or 5 children to 1 instructor) (Children are welcome to attend 2 days across the holidays) and need to be mobile.
If any age group doesn’t work for two children who would like to attend together please do email and we can see what is possible.

⭐️Calvert Trust Weekend 18th and 19th April
These are family days and spread over 4 sessions to keep the numbers spread across the weekend
Families are able to book either morning or afternoon session or book both sessions on either the Saturday or Sunday
These sessions are very accessible for a range of needs.
Activities include
* Archery
* Bikes
* Rafting
* Camp Craft
* Climbing
