On this day 7 years ago we were told our daughter had Patau syndrome.

Seven long and difficult days later, I underwent a procedure terminating our pregnancy for medical reasons.

She was unlikely to survive the pregnancy, and even if we did get that far, we were told that she would have lived for a matter of hours most likely. Her condition was too severe. 💔

This decision was immeasurably hard in so many ways, but the right one for our family.

We then spent months waiting for genetic testing, grieving, hoping, and SO grateful for our amazing 2 year old son 🫶

The following January (just before the beginning of the Covid pandemic) we found out that we were pregnant again with our 🌈 baby boy.

He turns 6 next month. He was the light that we needed and has the kindest heart.

For everyone that has suffered from baby loss and is still waiting for their rainbow, I am sending BIG love to you.

We wouldn’t have coped this much without the support from our family and friends and from Antenatal Results and Choices. So thank you 🙏🏻 xx
