πŸ’œ Looking Back on Walk for Fibro πŸ’œ

During National Walking Month in May, our team members Claire, Jason, Lynda, and Moss took on the Walk for Fibro challenge, committing to 30 minutes of walking each day throughout the month. Along the way, they shared photographs from their walks, helping to raise awareness of fibromyalgia and highlighting the benefits that gentle movement and time spent outdoors can bring.

The campaign was about more than walking. It was an opportunity to bring people together, encourage conversations about fibromyalgia, and strengthen community connections. Throughout Fibromyalgia Awareness Month, we shared information, experiences, and support while helping to increase understanding of life with fibromyalgia.

As we look back on the month, we are reminded that awareness is not limited to a single campaign or month of the year. Together, we can continue to advocate for greater recognition, support one another, and ensure that the voices of people living with fibromyalgia are heard.

πŸ“’At Fibromyalgia Action UK, we are proud to recognise the work of Jessica Logan, founder of Making The Invisible Visible. Jessica has dedicated her time and creativity to raising awareness and vital funds for invisible health conditions, supporting Fibromyalgia Action UK and nine other charities through her inspiring fundraising work. To date, she has raised an impressive Β£1606.50 for Fibromyalgia Action UK.

Despite facing her own health challenges and having previously been hospitalised due to an invisible illness, Jessica has turned her lived experience into a powerful force for good. Her work includes creating charity calendars and organising the annual Warrior Pageant, both of which bring together and celebrate people living with invisible conditions. Her connection to fibromyalgia is also deeply personal, as her husband Dale was recently diagnosed, further strengthening her commitment to supporting the wider invisible illness community.

This year’s Warrior Pageant will take place in October, continuing its mission of empowerment and visibility. The first event took place on 23 October 2021 after being postponed due to the COVID outbreak, and it has grown into a powerful annual celebration. Anyone interested in taking part can contact [email protected].
