Sadly, several people I know have lost loved ones over recent months.
I came across this poem on Instagram recently and I found it comforting. I hope it helps others too.

UNKNOWN

I don't miss you with sadness anymore,
I miss you the way the evening misses the sun -
not in grief but in quiet acceptance
that it was beautiful while it lasted.
You exist now the way distant stars exist -
not close enough to touch,
yet somehow still part of my sky.
Sometimes your memory arrives without warning,
not to re-open anything,
but to remind me how deeply
a moment can live within a person.
I no longer wish to hold on or let go -
because some things don't end,
they simply learn how to live quietly within you.

Mother’s Day can be a joyful celebration for many – but for others, it can be a difficult and emotional day.

For those who are grieving a mother or mother figure, experiencing a complicated relationship, navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, estrangement, or missing a child, the constant reminders across social media and in everyday life can feel overwhelming.

If this day brings up mixed or painful feelings, you’re not alone. It’s OK to acknowledge those emotions and give yourself the care and space you need – whether that means setting boundaries, reaching out for support, or taking time for yourself.

However you feel this Mother’s Day, your experience is valid. 💙

Bit of a long read but worth it xx

Here’s a hug for the new year 🤍
Not rushed.
Not loud.
Just steady and warm.

The kind of hug that doesn’t ask questions.
That doesn’t expect you to explain what the last year took from you.
The kind that simply says, “I know it’s been a lot.”

Some years ask too much.
They stretch you.
They change you in ways you didn’t plan.
They leave you carrying quiet tiredness you can’t always name.

So this hug is for that version of you.
The one who kept going.
The one who showed up even when it was hard.
The one who survived things that never made it into conversation.

May this new year be gentle with you.
Gentle with your heart.
Gentle with your healing.
Gentle with the parts of you that are still learning how to rest.

May kindness meet you in small ways.
In ordinary mornings.
