Before & after my Tuesday night ‘a compassionate evening practice for you’ which finishes with a yoga nidra practice I like to spend time in the beautiful garden outside the studio, watching the animals in the field who often line the fence to join us & feel the breeze clearing & grounding me. These poppies really stood out after our class, when i returned home I looked up the spiritual symbolism of poppies.
Peace, rest, dreams & resilience.
In Ancient Greek Roman mythology they represent the bridge between wakefulness & subconscious, connection to the dreamworld, perhaps due to the opioid properties?
Hypnos the God of sleep & Morpheus the God of dreams; a spiritual invitation to rest your mind, emotions, rebirth & peace; giving attention to your dreams & the messages received.
The Poppy represents incredible resilience; their seeds can lay dormant in the soil for years until the ground is churned up prompting them to grow, The red Poppy symbolises remembrance; where they bloomed upon scarred, barren battlefields, they are worn as a sign of honour, respect & remembrance for fallen soldiers.
The Poppy is a symbol of transformation, finding beauty & Hope.

How interesting that in the Nidra practice which draws us into a state of non sleep deep rest we brought our attention inward to focus on reaching for the Sunlight, exploring change, adapting, enjoying new experiences & perspectives & dancing in the light along the way💛

I heard a phrase today on a podcast I was listening too & it really stuck in my head 'the sweetness of being'
We often hear 'be in the moment, just be' or something similar & it seems to have become one of those statements a lot of us probably make from time to time with good intention.
I loved the energy I felt when hearing this, conjuring up a nourishing, succulent opportunity of really pausing absorbing with all our senses whatever we're feeling & experiencing in our body & mind & allowing those yummy sensations to take over.
So this was me last night, in a place I love, after taking some pictures; savouring 'The sweetness of being' 💛

An update for my regulars & anyone new to my page.. I’ve made the decision over the summer to pause Sunday night classes again, I intend these to return September time.
I’ve chosen to add in additional Tuesday night classes which are popular; they’ll take place every other Tuesday evening 5.45-7.15pm - see event link for further information.
These classes are suitable for everyone, we can adapt where needed to suit your needs each class.
June & July classes are up; will remain in the beautiful Soulands Studio in Dacre.
Numbers in these classes are small, I allow no more than 8 people to ensure I can support everyone & there’s enough space for everyone & to move safely🙏💛
Look forward to seeing the usual beautiful people in class & welcoming some new ones too.

Inviting you all today as you read this to pause & reflect upon what your heart is grateful for in this very moment, feel & breath any sensations that arise into your body, perhaps softly close your eyes & place a hand over your heart, imagine those feelings of gratitude radiating through the rest of your body… maybe as you go through your day try to hold this awareness as things, people, experiences, memories cross your path, use these moments to create more beauty within you❤️
As I sit now, I hear the birds in my garden, noticing their many different sounds, I’m aware they have new life in their crowd, I feel a coolness from my open door, yet see the sun creating shadows through the trees which occasionally move, there’s a stillness today, soothing background instrumental music is playing,I feel the weight of one of my dogs lying next to me; I am grateful for each of these… now consider if we are not present all of the things we may miss…

See how many wonderful experiences you are able to clock up as you go through your day☀️
