Only 7 sleeps until Rachel Stevens joins us for an inspiring evening of Animal Communication.

Applications are now open for trader spaces at our Spiritual & Wellbeing Charity Event on Sunday 27th September at Evergreen Hall, Penrith.

We're looking for passionate, heart-led businesses to join us for a day celebrating wellbeing, spirituality, creativity, holistic living and community. Whether you create beautiful handmade products, offer holistic therapies, sell crystals, candles, jewellery, natural skincare, artwork, gifts or provide intuitive services, we'd love to hear from you.

🐾 This year's event is proudly supporting Eden Animal Rescue, so every trader will be helping to raise funds for a fantastic local charity dedicated to giving animals a second chance.

Today — or more accurately, this morning — the summer solstice in the UK takes place at 9:24am BST on Sunday 21 June 2026. While most people think of the solstice as lasting the entire day, it’s technically a single exact moment when our hemisphere is tilted closest towards the Sun.

The summer solstice marks the beginning of midsummer in the Northern Hemisphere and gives us the longest day and shortest night of the year. In other words, it’s the one day Brits optimistically declare, “Right, that’s summer then,” before putting the kettle on during a rain shower.

Astronomically speaking, Earth spins once every 24 hours, creating day and night, while also orbiting the Sun over the course of a year. However, our planet doesn’t sit upright as it travels through space. Earth is tilted by about 23.44 degrees — which sounds suspiciously like someone assembled the planet in a hurry and never quite straightened it properly.

Because of this tilt, the Northern Hemisphere leans toward the Sun for part of the year while the Southern Hemisphere leans away. Six months later, the roles reverse. Thankfully gravity keeps everyone attached to the planet, otherwise Australia would have slid off years ago and half of Britain would be hanging onto Scotland by their fingertips.
