Even more special, the article was published on our 2nd birthday… what a fantastic birthday present!

As a small family business, seeing Rose Cottage recognised alongside so many incredible accessible holiday properties across the UK is a proud moment.

It’s been an inspiring week for fundraising and challenge 💙

Katy had the honour of taking part in a Bob Graham Relay in the , raising money for Mind Over Mountains – a charity doing incredible work to support mental health through nature and connection.

She completed Leg 4, tackling some 18km and 6 of the most rugged and remote peaks of the Lake District. It was a difficult challenge but have the full Lakes For All team at the finish made it all worth it.

For those who might not know, the Bob Graham Round is one of the UK’s most legendary endurance challenges covering around 66 miles, 42 peaks, and over 27,000 feet of climbing, all within 24 hours.

And it’s not just been the hills bringing people together this week, a huge congratulations as well to everyone who took part in the for charity. The dedication, resilience, and generosity shown by so many is truly inspiring.

We hope everyone who’s been recovering from the this week is starting to feel a bit more human again, you’ve earned it! 👏

Here’s to everyone pushing themselves for good causes 🙌

🌸 Spring Days Out in The Lake District 🌸

With the lovely spring weather we thought we would share our top 3 accessible days out in - spring addition!

1. Lowther Castle
Located just 2 minutes from Rose Cottage.

If like us you love the calm beauty that cherry blossom brings then be sure to head for a day out at Lowther, where you can hire a tramper to enjoy a stroll along the accessible path by the river, or head into the main grounds to bask in the warmth of the spring sunshine beneath the blossom trees with a good book.

Plus, let’s not forget it has a fantastic fort playground for burning some energy off the younger members of the family too.

When tummy’s begin to rumble you can look forward to quality local produce in the newly refurbished cafe. We recommend trying the toast and honey ice cream made with honey from the Lowther bees- it’s delicious 🍦

2. Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite
Located 29 miles from Rose Cottage.

What is spring in the Lakes without little lambs frolicking in the fields? We recommend taking the time for a trip to with its lovely wide accessible pathways through the animals. Whether you enjoy the cheeky meerkats, the sleepy red pandas or the cute little lambs it is the perfect spot to get up close with wildlife in a beautiful setting. Throughout the day there are a number of animals for you to feed, falcon shows and a play park and cafe to relax. A great day out for all the family.

3. Pooley Bridge and Ullswater
Located 10minutes from Rose Cottage.

Pooley Bridge is bustling with cafes and pubs, but spring brings the opening of the outdoor seating areas alongside the river providing the treat of watching the ducks and herons on the water while you enjoy a bite to eat. The bonus of a spring visit is that the village is much quieter allowing you to avoid ques or the need to rebook.

Ullswater also has some lovely accessible walks with the Ullswater Way between Glencoyne and Aira Force or from Pooley Bridge to the lake.

We have just 1 spring date left available 15-18th May so be quick.
