As our nearest accessible attraction (located minutes from Rose Cottage) we are so excited to see Lowther Castle and Gardens latest announcement that they are introducing a festive light trail through the grounds for winter 2026.

What a fantastic addition to any cosy winter stay in The Lake District, Cumbria. Plus, with the dryrobe adapt we provide at Rose Cottage you can be sure to stay warm and dry whilst you explore, before heading back to get snug by the log burner in the cottage 🪵

Summer Holidays mean our little helpers are joining us for changeover days at Rose Cottage.

Today, Amelia had the important job of finding the perfect spot for our recent certificate as a finalist in the , recognising our accessible and inclusive holiday cottage.

I think you’ll agree, she chose a good spot, pride of place in the lounge.

WOW, what a night!

We had the honour of attending as a finalist for the Accessibility and Inclusion Tourism Award at the lovely

We didn’t bring home the top prize, but what an honour it was to even be a finalist along side two of the best accessible businesses in Cumbria. As a small business in its infancy, it was a bit of a pinch me moment to get this far.

Huge congratulations to who won this year’s award, we love recommending you to our guests.

Congratulations also, to our fellow finalist , we loved catching up with you and hearing all about your fantastic refurbished sensory room. We can’t wait to visit!

It was lovely to see so many of the fantastic attractions we recommend to guests getting the recognition they deserve.

Jack is back from working at sea and we have put him straight to work on the gardens today. Of course, he is under the watchful eye of his little supervisor, Walter 🤭

Did you know Rose cottage had a peaceful enclosed garden overlooking the woodlands behind the cottage?

When the weather is as good as it is at the moment, there is no better place to enjoy your morning coffee, listening to the birds and watching for red squirrels in the trees 🌲☕️

We really do have the best guests 🥰

Getting a little text from our departing guests to say they had left me a magnum in the freezer to cool down changeover day.

I was so delighted to find my favourite ice cream waiting for me on such a hot day. Shout out to all the amazing cleaning staff suffering in this heat. It’s hot 🔥
