Fun Friday Fact: Blisters are your skin’s tiny alarm system 👣🚨
Did you know a blister is your body’s way of protecting the skin from too much rubbing?
When your shoe, sock or activity creates repeated friction, fluid can build up under the top layer of skin. It may look annoying, but that little bubble is actually trying to cushion and protect the area.
A few quick facts:
🧦 Socks that bunch up can cause extra rubbing
👟 New shoes are one of the biggest blister culprits
🚶 Long walks, warm weather and sweaty feet can make blisters more likely
⚠️ Popping a blister can increase the risk of infection, especially if the skin underneath is exposed
Simple tip for the weekend: if you are wearing new shoes, break them in gradually and keep an eye out for “hot spots” before they turn into blisters.
