☺️Have you ever noticed that one side feels more stable than the other?

This simple balance test is a great way to check how your body responds when standing on each leg.

Start by lifting one knee and holding your balance, then compare how it feels on the other side. You can use a chair for support if needed and build up gradually as your confidence improves.

You might notice a difference between sides — that’s completely normal.

This exercise can help improve balance, coordination, and awareness of how your body moves.

👌As always, stay within a comfortable range and stop if anything doesn’t feel right.

We’re delighted to be supporting Chris Woodford and the crew of trawler boat Nell in their fundraising efforts for Oundle Volunteer Action ⚓️
As they make their way to Shetland, we were lucky enough to join them for part of the journey along the beautiful north east Scottish coast to the Moray Firth.
Wishing Chris and the crew the very best for the rest of their adventure!

With a very warm week ahead, we know many people will be making the most of the sunshine with gardening, DIY jobs and outdoor projects.
Just a reminder that Oundle Osteopaths will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday and back open Tuesday morning.

A few gentle reminders while working in the garden:
🌿 Don’t try to do too much in one go
🌿 Take regular breaks and pace yourself
🌿 Avoid kneeling for long periods without support
🌿 Use a kneeling mat or small stool where possible

🌷Every year after a long weekend we see lots of sore backs, stiff necks and gardening aches… so take care and listen to your body.
📞If you need our help, please feel free to call and leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sometimes during exam season, the body starts asking for a break before the mind is ready to stop 📚
Stress, long hours studying and lack of rest can all leave the body feeling tense, tired and overwhelmed.

A few small things can make a difference during busy study periods:
✨ Take regular breaks
✨ Get moving, even if it’s just a short walk
✨ Prioritise sleep and rest where you can
✨Talk to someone if you feel overwhelmed

As osteopaths, we understand how posture, stress and daily habits can affect the body, and we’re always here to help support your wellbeing during demanding times.
❤️If long periods of studying are leading to tension, headaches or discomfort, our team of osteopaths and massage therapists are here to help support you too.

If you have osteoarthritis, you've probably been told to "take it easy" and avoid overusing your joints. This can be confusing, especially when you're dealing with pain, stiffness, and joints that don't move like they used to.
But here's what we now know: Movement doesn't wear your joints out. In fact, the right kind of movement is one of the best things you can do for them.

💛Osteoarthritis isn't just "wear and tear." It's a complex condition, which means a whole-body approach is needed. This includes:
👌Staying active
👌Building strength
👌Gentle, regular movement

👀Avoiding activity can actually make your symptoms worse. The key is to find the right exercises that support your body without causing pain.
❤️If you’re not sure where to start, we can help guide you with tailored advice and a personalised treatment plan.
