๐ŸŽ‰ Pacing Pathways is changing - I've deliberately slowed it down.

Over the years I've run Pacing Pathways in different ways, and I've learnt a lot from the people who've travelled through it with me.

One thing I've increasingly recognised is - there's a lot to take in!

There's also a lot to learn about yourself - it takes time for information to settle ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

๐ŸŒฑ Learning about your own FND isn't something that needs to be rushed. It needs time to be understood.

So for the next programme, I'm doing things differently.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ One module, each month, for 7-months.

โœ… More time to learn.
โœ… More time to notice.
โœ… More time to experiment.
โœ… More time to reflect.

I want there to be space and more support to actually explore ๐Ÿ”each module and what it means for you.

Because this isn't about becoming an expert in FND.

It's about gradually becoming more familiar with your own understanding of FND and how it impacts you.

The next Pacing Pathways programme is for 7-months and begins Sunday 27 September.

And we're taking our time โฏ๏ธ

โญ๏ธ A little thing I've learned about FND โ€ฆ

Mental fatigue and cognitive fatigue aren't the same thing.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Mental fatigue is about the content of your thoughts;
โš™๏ธ Cognitive fatigue is about the effort your brain is making to think.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Mental might sound like:
I shouldโ€ฆ What ifโ€ฆ? I need toโ€ฆ Why is this happening?

โš™๏ธ Cognitive might feel like:
I'm struggling to process this.
I can't take it in.
I can't work out what to do next.

๐Ÿ–‡๏ธ They can feel remarkably similar, and they can overlap.

๐Ÿค” Noticing which one you're experiencing can help you understand what your brain and body might need.

๐ŸŒฟ Which one do you recognise most easily in yourself?

I've been thinking a lot about the word "enough" lately ๐Ÿค”

Living with FND and chronic illness, many of us become very familiar with what too much feels like.

โญ๏ธ We've pushed too far.
โ๏ธ We've done too much.
โฌ๏ธ We've run out of energy.
โน๏ธ We've hit the wall.

But I wonder how often we stop and ask ourselves:

What does enough actually feel like? ๐Ÿค”

โŒ Not "How much can I get done?"

โŒ Not "How much should I be doing?"

Just... enough. โœ…

๐Ÿค” What does that look like for you?

๐Ÿค” What does it feel like in your body?

๐Ÿค” And how do you know when you've reached it?

I've been exploring this more with my Wellbeing Wednesday support community and through my Pacing Pathways programme.

I'm recognising that learning to understand and be aware of 'enough' is just as important as learning to understand and be aware of when it's too much.

I'd love to hear what you think.

We are told to rest, to pace. We are not taught WHY or HOW with complex and dynamic conditions like FND. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Learning to Pace with FND is so much more than the traditional Spoon Theory ๐Ÿฅ„. It doesn't take account of the neurological overwhelm - the different types of fatigue - and that's why it doesn't work ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

This programme is often referred to as 'life changing' because it provides awareness, tools, resources and information that enable and empower someone with FND to start making a difference to their own lives - and that is golden ๐Ÿ’ซ

I'm looking forward to walking this pathway alongside some courageous souls next Sunday, and if this resonates with you, come along and join us too.

My heart melted reading Mary's words - they means so much ๐Ÿ’›

Iโ€™m incredibly proud of Mary and all the people who have moved through the "Pacing Pathways: Navigating Life with FND Programme".

Living with FND is hard, and learning to understand different types of fatigue, listen to your body differently, and gently make empowering changes to how you live takes real courage.

Watching people learn and begin to understand their energy, find more consistency, soften the self-pressure, and realise theyโ€™re not failing โ€” theyโ€™re navigating a very real condition โ€” is why this course exists.

Thank you for sharing your amazing words, Mary. So proud of you! ๐Ÿ†
