After unexpectedly reaching thousands of people on my story and many reaching out on private messages deeply concerned, I realised this conversation needs to happen more publicly.
As clinicians, we’re seeing increasing reports like this across the industry and it is alarming, and sad.
Please do your due diligence before having anything injected.
Ask where products are sourced.
Ask who is prescribing.
Ask about qualifications, complications management, and safety protocols.
If the price seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Your face and your health are not worth the risk.

Email body:
“Hi Richard,
I hope you're well. I'm on the Rapid Assessment Unit in LGI ED tonight.
Just to let you know we've had 2 suspected botulism cases in a single evening from likely botox injections, both of whom had injections 2 weeks ago from a place called ****** **** in Leeds. Health Protection Agency is involved, but thought it was good to let people know regionally early as it is likely to be the next 24-72 hrs that further cases would present.
Are you ok to share that info across the Mid-Yorks EDs so that if you have anyone come in with facial neurology it's considered as a cause?
Regards and best wishes to everyone”
